If that's the case it would be no different for the Astros so the point is moot.
The problem with an experienced team is that they sometimes get tired late in the game and have trouble closing them out.RetiredAg said:
You want to watch a older, more experienced players fighting to get back to the WS? Then the Rangers may be your team.

Texags is literally the only place i've ever seen where Rangers fans try to convince people that the vast majority of their fanbase aren't johnny come latelys. I say that knowing how big of a fan my grandpa (RIP) was of the Rangers.

It's simple. You pick the Astros because they're going to be good this year - and you get to laugh at the rangers fans when they suck.
Problem solved.

The Astros are going to be way more fun to watch this year
I've heard that before.

What's even more worrisome, however, is the continued struggles of the team's cable network. CSN Houston, which also broadcasts Houston Rockets games, does not have carrier deals with DirecTV, DIsh Network, AT&T U-verse, and other TV providers, thus cutting out a sizable chunk of Astros fans both in Houston and across the country.

Hope you're happy now that their true colors are shown.

You guys are sheep if you think the rangers should have switched with the Astros.
A) Astros are not the city of Houston, helping them does nothing for Houston. The Astros are Houstonians. Their families, homes, and belongings are all in Houston.
B) switching would have given the rangers a 13 game road trip at the end of September when they still have an outside shot at the playoffs. No team should be expected to do that. With not being able to get home the Astros now have a 19 game road trip. All while being away from their homes during a disaster. But better not mess with the Rangers playoff chances right?
C) the Astros management is a bunch of dirtbags for trying to hold the rangers' feet to the fire on this and going public just because it would look bad (because people are sheep) when I guarantee they would have done the same if the shoe were on the other foot. Holding the Rangers feet to the fire? Really?
D) rangers offered them home field in Arlington (bat in the bottom, where white unis, and take the gate) which would have been better for both teams than flying off to Tampa, but the Astros said "wah, wah, wah, there's a storm, give us what we want or we will throw a fit, go to the press, and make you play in Florida." Despite the fact that it lessens the rangers chance to make the playoffs. But with the condition the Rangers still get their games and get their money. But think about the Ranger season ticket holders that would be inconvenienced. Oh yeah...The don't have home whites since they cant get back home. Playing in their warmup threads.
The Astros are a BUSINESS of millionaires and billionaires they are not the people of Houston or Dickerson or Katy. They don't need help and the rangers shouldn't be expected to help them at their own cost. Again with this? The don't need help because they're millionaires? You're right as far as financially but come on.
Help Houston, not the Astros.
Edit: I live in Houston, so I've seen and known the magnitude of this.

What is pathetic is the goal tending by the Ranger fans. You know, sometimes you just do things because it is the right thing. Or at least decent people do. Baseball Gods are a fickle group so we shall see. I personally hope the Rangers get booed when they take the field tonight. And as I stated in the other thread, I have pulled for the Rangers in the past. No more.
Typical Rangers attitude. Business of scumbags.Specialized said:

Really because I had never heard anyone in Houston speak ill of Dallas, but every time I've ever been to Dallas in my Astros cap someone always comments in a rude way.Heismenberg said:
If you love being butt hurt all the time and bashing other cities in your own state, then the Astros are for you.
Seriously I don't get it. I grew up in west Texas and moved to DFW for a few years. I never heard anyone there speak poorly of Houston or its sports teams. Houston HATES Dallas. I guess because DFW has had so much more success in sports and the Metroplex is actually a nicer place to live.
