I don't think that admiring a persons legend is wrong. It'd be nearly impossible to not admire Teddy ballgame. But I can't think of him (or the Babe, or Jackie Robinson, or Hammering Hank, or, or, or) as a favorite ballplayer because I didn't live through (and, therefore, experience) their greatness.

However, I'm not cutting on you at all for it!

I saw Clark the most in person. First when the Giants would play the Stros then as a Ranger. I saw Bonds once in person. Yes I got to see them "live" on tv and then again on sports center watching highlights. I've read magazine articles about them and collected their cards.

I like baseball is more than seeing the game in person even though that's the ultimate way. It is the stats, the stories, the egos and feats of our heroes. I've not seen anyone outside of those 3 that captivated my fan hood even though I never saw Teddy Ballgame play.

Tldr: I'm a nerd. Hth.

I will always love great pitching. All of these guys at their peak were simply amazing. Barry Bonds at the plate was the same way and regardless of the steroids it didn't change my enjoyment at the time.

Some of us were kids and only watched tbs games growing up, until our first Astros game. Chipper is why I got interested in the game. Sorry I grew up just far away enough from Houston.
