We can only hope. His delivery to the plate should be illegal.
Blue star for you, sir. His delivery is a balk damn near every time, if you follow the rule book.

a stunning series defeat

as an aside...the Expos/Nationals could get off the "never played in the world series" list.

I think it's just them and the Mariners left

and speaking of the Expos...Kendrick's slam is the 38-year payback for Rick Monday's home run in the 1981 NLCS

we'll see how far the Nationals go...

but we're potentially looking at an all-time "addition by subtraction" example

I wonder if Acuna will learn his lesson on pimping homeruns this offseason?

Maybe that run in Game 1 matters, maybe it doesn't... But when you're sitting at home watching the NLCS after the best Braves season in 15 years I bet you think about it a little.
Most MLB players do something less than sprint to first on that type of hit, although his was pretty bad. He's the #1 reason they are in the playoffs, and he has a legitimate argument for the NL MVP. He'll be fine.

Minimal hustle has you at 2nd base with no issues on that hit.

No doubt he's the reason they had the type of season they did, but in the "things you can easily control" department that ends up being a pretty big blunder -- especially when it's something he actually got benched for doing earlier in the season.

Nitwit Roberts had to, just had to, pitch Kershaw.

Roberts decides to throw Gas Can Darvish in Game 7 against the Astros two years ago (when he should have pitched Kershaw). Then last night, Nitwit goes to Kershaw that 1) is past his prime and 2) is a liability in the post-season.

The red-headed kid that weights 140 lbs (soaking weight and with sandbags on his belt) should have pitched until his arm fell off.

Typical Roberts! He is a "good" manager during the season but cannot manage under pressure.

Oh well... Good luck, everyone!

Kershaw threw 94 pitches in Game 5. He was never an option to pitch Game 7 three days later.

Yet Kershaw threw 4 scoreless innings in Game 7.

Again...oh well... Good luck all! Enjoy, "cheers", etc.

Goodness, you know what I meant. He was never an option to start the game. If he did start (after giving up 6 earned runs three days prior) and the Dodgers lost, you'd be complaining about not starting a fully rested Darvish.

So you're saying the only "pressure" games are the ones the Dodgers lost in the World Series the last 2 years? Not the ones in the regular seasons or playoffs to get there? Not the ones they won in the WS and playoffs? I agree they choked against the Astros, but this comment is a bit ridiculous. They're a top 3 team, at least, in baseball over the last 3 years and if you change only about 4 or 5 games (out of about 475) in a very small way, they could have easily had 2 championships. Even if you go the other way in 4 or 5 games, they're still a damn good team.

He's probably not going anywhere unless he's lost the players.

While I agree, at the end of the day it's on the players. Yes, that was horrific managing, but the players that got them there (looking at you bellinger) decided to play like ***** The blame should be pointed at the players and their performance on the field as well as Roberts' stupid moves from the dugout. Putting Kershaw in the game in that spot was idiotic, and frankly unforgivable, and likely losing this game all by itself, but if the team played anywhere close to their potential it would be a nonissue. Losing this series took a team effort.

What was the story on Jansen? Why did they say they might not use him before the series even started? Has he been hurt?

The playoff balls being de-juiced would explain why Acuna didn't hustle out of the box in game 1.

Far-fetched? Probably.

Did anybody else open this thread thinking someone gave up on the Aggie 2019 Football season early--just before staring down Bama at Home 5 games into the season?

My mind told me that is some SERIOUS BAS!!!

Cody Bellinger...

a career .178 postseason hitter with a .560 OPS in 145 plate appearances including 52 strike outs.

those are bad numbers
