not that we're worried about the Angels...

but in a 60-game schedule, LAAA drawing the Dodgers 6 times is a disadvantage when Houston only plays LAD 4 times and Oakland only 3 times

I harped on this before, but it just doesn't make sense to have unbalanced home-away, especially with the number of games against each team.

Want to reduce travel? Play two 5-game series against each division opponent. Balanced schedule, less travel. Done.

strangely enough...I'm okay with the Astros missing the Blue Jays this year.

Toronto went 8-11 vs. NYY last season. They played the Bombers tough.

if the Jays' young hitters take another step forward, they'll give New York some trouble in September

add 2 teams
2 leagues of 16, 4 divisions of 4
no matter where the new teams are it'll be easier to minimize logistics/mileage
might have to shuffle nl/al some, but that'll be easier if dh is universal

Didn't realize it was that simple. Why didn't Manfred do that before making the Astros & Rangers travel so much this year???

I made a spreadsheet a while back the completely reorganized the league and divisions to be better geographical fits while still incorporating big time rivalries. I'll see if I can find it tomorrow. I'm pretty sure it involved adding two teams.. one west and one East. It made a lot of sense.

the problem with the Astros and Rangers not belonging in the west is that there is nobody to switch with that also makes sense geographically with 5 team divisions

Astros beat writer who (in my opinion) comes across as very negative towards the Astros. Many would say he comes across as whiny too.

8:00 is great.
I guess the trade-off is fine. It's just annoying not to get 710 games like normal. With so many west coach road games (~40% of the schedule) its great to avoid the 910 games.

8 is great for me. I usually always set games to record then start about 8:30 anyways once the kids are in bed and the wife watches whatever else. Allows me to fast forward through commercial breaks and enjoy constant baseball for the first 2hrs or so
