Rest Bregman on the 3rd game of the season when Yuli is on paternity leave. Then put him in when we're down to try and win. Seriously, Dusty is terrible. Manfred must've forced this hire to keep the championship. That's the only explanation.

We extended him twice since the initial hiring... Dusty still being the manager is on Crane and Click now

Nolan Ryan rarely got run support in his time in Houston. The Astros have historically hit poorly for their ace.

Stros hit some balls hard but need to elevate to celebrate. They're 2-1 or .667, at which pace they win 108 and lead the league. I'm happy but want to hear how JV's arm holds up.

Leave Baker alone. The players love him, and he's satisfied ownership, media and most of the fans. Team has great record under him. Go Stros!

Especially early in the season

Also I've heard Blum mention it before that players are laser focused and pressure themselves on defense when the ace pitches and often that bleeds over to the offensive side.

Low offense for the ace is not just a Astros thing.

I'm glad I didn't get a chance to watch that trash last night.

That said, the goal isn't to win every game, it's to get series wins. If we win today, we have the series win, and I'm ok with that.

You didn't have to stop there. Remember Preston Gomez pulling Don Wilson for a pinch hitter in the bottom of the 8th while he was throwing what would have been his 3rd no-hitter? That's one example but he Astros did not score for him on a chronic basis.

Nolan really was an extreme example of low run support. Year after year he would be among league leaders in ERA and his W-L record would be around .500
