I seriously don't want our team crossing paths with 13U Banditos Deleon. That would not be a fun game to watch.

Sorry, it's not THAT 13U Majors Banditos Deleon team, I think that team is now their Prospects team and this team should replace that team as their new majors team. I'm not expecting them to go 90-1-0 and win a national championship but I suspect they will be pretty good...

I doubt we'll cross paths with your sons on the field at 11UAAA or 15U Tarpon but it's certainly possible we would square off with the 13U Colts Chris. We were recently seduced to the dark side and will be moving to the 13U Banditos Deleon for the spring but have started practicing with them already. It's going to be a tough transition for my boy but they really practice/play a different level of baseball over there....

Is that the Banditos team with big Leyland? If so, that's definitely a team on another level. Those boys can mash.

Best of luck.
Nope, most of that team is now the Banditos Prospects team

Gotcha.

I was looking at the profiles of the kids on that Banditos Prospects team and they're ridiculous. Grown ass men and they had to have hit over 200 home runs as a roster last year.

My son practiced with some of them on Monday and it felt like he was practicing with the Aggie starters! He's still a bit small but they made him look tiny...

My 14-year old is big for his age at 6'1" 190 and he's smaller than some of their kids.

Tyler Early played on the 12u Banditos Deleon team in the spring. He's playing with one of the Banditos 14u major teams now. I saw him turn around 84 mph against Elite RBI National and go yard on Premier field 3 a few weeks back. They list him at 6'2" 225lbs. He doesn't turn 13 for another month. Unbelievable. He's going to have to watch his weight though. Everytime I see him he is heavier.

Yeah, I think he was just picking up with that 14U Banditos team because he's on the 13U Banditos Prospects roster.

If anybody needs an extra 11u player in central Texas around Waco or BCS, would love for my son to pickup for a weekend. First fall we haven't played baseball and he's missing it.

If he can pitch teams will make room.

Looking back at this from almost 2 years ago (first page of this thread), just want to say thanks Tarpon for great advice as my son made some big decisions in baseball.

He did catch on with a 14U AA team (playing one year up) and eventually became one of the better pitchers in that classification. He won his last 8 starts including couple complete game shutouts.

This year he moved up with the team to 15U and did pretty well against some big HS kids - even in a couple 16U tournaments. He's now moving back to 14U this spring and was invited to a Banditos Majors team.

Rec ball was great for his development, and I feel he's proven you don't need to be 100% baseball at those super young ages to develop into a very good baseball player. He threw his first pitch in a game just 3 years ago, and today his HS coaches know him by name and are excited for him to get there next year.

Thanks again!

That's great to hear dude.

Sounds like you made a good move to play up as that accelerated development. All of it changes so much as kids mature and go through puberty.

Are we all still playing? Some of the main posters in this thread have moved on to HS. I still have my 13u team and started over with 7u. Keep me in your prayers......

So going to put this here for Houston area kids. This is a great video on 'off season' vs. Off-season for baseball/softball.

At the end of the video, they plug the Texas Children's lab. If you contact them, they will (if there is no pain or damage) do a free assessment on your kid's pitching motion, things to improve and stretches to help out.

We did it and it took about an hour. Totally free, except to drive to the Woodlands. Lab was cool and they have videos of your kid's skeleton pitching and how it all moves. They also measure body movement (rotations, flexibility, etc.) as well as 'strength'.

If things stay good, you can schedule follow-ups for about every 6 months. They are trying to collect more data on kids and abilities. The report I got shows my son's strength, but it is comparing to 18 year olds (vs. his 12U status).

Sierra is the contact individual.

Oldest is now a 6'2" 210# 10th grader playing football & baseball. Touching 85 on the bump and starting to garner some interest in being to be able to play past HS.

Played TE on JV this fall for 6A district champs and pulled up to varsity for the playoffs. Fall baseball was low-key but still getting work. In fact, just got home from hitting- won't be 16 until July 2026 so we have to drive him around.

His hitting was slacking but after his annual checkup the pediatrician suggested an eye exam and he had to get contacts about a month ago and it's made a massive difference.

Younger one just wrapped up fall ball and playing tackle football for the first time. He's just 11 but doing really well.

I probably should start a new thread, but my kid hit his 1st bomb in this one, so I'm kind partial.

Reviving an old thread

Has anyone played for the Marucci group? What were your thoughts? Good, bad, other?

Wanting to get opinions. Thanks.
