We'll be getting our third look in four games at Frias, Nelson, Castro, and Saalfrank. Most coming off B2Bs. It's critical we make them work and throw strikes. Can't be bailing them out with early swings on bad pitches.
Great lineup. I have one minor adjustment idea. Heim bats 9th. He's lost it mentally at the plate. Very obvious fatigue has set in there.MrCoachEricTaylor said:
I'd almost rather have a lineup of
Carter
Semian
Seager
Garver
Grossman
Jung
Heim
Lowe
Tavares
I feel like that really optimizes the handedness matchup and still protects Seager. I have felt like having Carter potentially getting in base ahead of Semi and Seager would help with run production also.

Or it could be gamesmanship.FireAg said:
Starting to feel like we won't know anything on Garcia until the line ups are submitted…
To me, that tells me there's a chance he can go…
Heim hit a home run in Game 6 against the Astros and he has become irrational confidence guy since then. Needs to shorten up his swing instead of going for the long ball every pitch.WestTexasAg said:Heim, Jung and Taveras absolutely need to get going. Can't remember when Heim last hit a ball hard.Water Boy said:
The back end of the lineup was a huge key in our series victory against houston. Need those guys to get hot again if Garcia is out for the series.

Heim is batting 0.209 in the playoffs with 0 hits in 3 WS games.
We'd welcome a logjam. We're a team that mashes runs in, not takes the extra base.
If he fixes that swing. It isn't always quite as simple as "it will just happen for him eventually." You have to make adjustments to what you are doing poorly during a slump. And he is taking long, uppercut swings that have almost no likelihood of making contact, particularly up and in, where he already struggles. He should be willing to go the other way to get on base for Lowe and turn it over to the top of the order faster.MrCoachEricTaylor said:Proposition Joe said:

It's baseball.. he's prone to break out at anytime.
If he's injured then why is max effort going in to every swing? He may be injured, but he also isn't taking smart swings.South Platte said:
I think Heim is playing through an injury that bothers him more than he leads on. Without him at catcher this team would already be on vacation.

There have been multiple days off in every series we have played and he got 3 days off from the ALCS to the WS. He's been an iron man but let's not act like he is playing every day in June. There have been plenty of off days in the past month.Carlo4 said:
I can't remember the stat, but Heim has caught every game since returning from injury. No days off in 3 months as a catcher will exhaust you to no end. I applaud him for his efforts. I think it's catching up to him at the plate.
Me recommending he go to 9th is a reflection on that. He's an A+ catcher but you can tell he needs a day off... He will get it sometime in the next 4 games for a whole offseason.
I'm holding out hope for JP Martinez, but I'm not holding my breath.fc2112 said:
So if Garcia is all the way out, Zeke Duran takes his roster spot?

You can sub for someone for the rest of the series you're in due to injury, but the sub has to already be on the 40 man.

And once you sub for someone, that injured person is out for the rest of the series. So say if Garcia is hurt, but might be ready in a couple days... you have a decision to make. Play short for a couple games and hope he makes it back? Or make the move.
Of course, we could just win the next two without him and all of that is irrelevant![]()

Mantiply is such an odd name. It's like you were trying to say multiply but didn't even come close.
I don’t think anything forthcoming until about 4 pm CT would be my guess https://t.co/Z7FUazgVcx

It's time for Jobu to take fear from bats, they are sick. Hopefully can take away pain from Adolis as well.Grapesoda2525 said:
Jung, Heim, Taveras, Semien. All need to get it going at the plate. I included Semien because even tho he had a good game last night he needs several in a row to break the slump.
About half of our lineup has been stinking it up this series. It looks like some of them emptied the tank against the Astros and have nothing left. I hope we can figure out a way to win 2 more games.
