We'll be getting our third look in four games at Frias, Nelson, Castro, and Saalfrank. Most coming off B2Bs. It's critical we make them work and throw strikes. Can't be bailing them out with early swings on bad pitches.

Great lineup. I have one minor adjustment idea. Heim bats 9th. He's lost it mentally at the plate. Very obvious fatigue has set in there.MrCoachEricTaylor said:

My only concern with putting Heim 9th is it creates a logjam on the base paths if Heim and then Carter are able to reach base to lead off an inning. But at this point your options are limited anyways.. I'd still roll with our guys over theirs every day of the week.

Either way stop stressing pre-game...the game is going to be stressful enough.
Heim hit a home run in Game 6 against the Astros and he has become irrational confidence guy since then. I think Heim is playing through an injury that bothers him more than he leads on. Without him at catcher this team would already be on vacation.
If he fixes that swing. It isn't always quite as simple as "it will just happen for him eventually." You have to make adjustments to what you are doing poorly during a slump. And he is taking long, uppercut swings that have almost no likelihood of making contact, particularly up and in, where he already struggles. Jung, Heim, Taveras, Semien. All need to get it going at the plate. I included Semien because even tho he had a good game last night he needs several in a row to break the slump.
About half of our lineup has been stinking it up this series. It looks like some of them emptied the tank against the Astros and have nothing left. I hope we can figure out a way to win 2 more games.

Jung and Semien have had some hard hit outs last couple of games. Some hope that they can provide output based on that.

Which doesn't change the point. Altering the lineup so we don't potentially have a logjam of baserunners is putting the cart before the horse.
We don't advance runners, we rarely steal, and aside from Evan Carter there's not many guys on this team looking to take the extra base. We're a team that wants to get guys on base and mash them home. We aren't worried about "logjams".
I can't remember the stat, but Heim has caught every game since returning from injury. No days off in 3 months as a catcher will exhaust you to no end. I applaud him for his efforts. I think it's catching up to him at the plate.
Me recommending he go to 9th is a reflection on that. He's an A+ catcher but you can tell he needs a day off... He will get it sometime in the next 4 games for a whole offseason

Last night post game, I sent this to my athletic trainer friend that is in the dugout for the team. Asked him to clap and rub his hands together when working on Garcia.
There have been multiple days off in every series we have played and he got 3 days off from the ALCS to the WS. He's been an iron man but let's not act like he is playing every day in June. There have been plenty of off days in the past month.Carlo4 said:

Since the off day before the TB series, we have played 15 games in the past 28 days. That is a lot of off days.
So if Garcia is all the way out, Zeke Duran takes his roster spot?

What are the procedures for adding injury replacements to the roster? I thought I heard there were no additions anymore
You can sub for someone for the rest of the series you're in due to injury, but the sub has to already be on the 40 man.
