Agreed. I don't think anyone here has had high hopes to add a big FA. Having said that... Sasaki was mentioned in the article above. He's an International Pool signing for someone if Posted.Flounder Dorfman said:
I haven't expected them to make any big FA signings this offseason. Not even sure where you would do that other than pitching.
If they can re-sign Eovaldi and Yates, that would be good on the FA front for me.
And then get under the CBT with the other contracts falling off and, if I'm CY, I trade Lowe. I like the guy and he's a good player, but he's not worth the $11-12MM he'll get in the offseason. And Taveras isn't worth $5MM or whatever he gets, but need to see if Carter is healthy before doing anything there.
If they post him in January for the 2025 period... they'll get about $2M +/-. If they wait for 2 years after the 2026 season (he'll be 25 then)... likely January of 2027, they could see upwards of $50M. The would also lose their best SP and one of the best SPs in the league.Quote:
Yamamoto's $325MM deal came with a windfall for his former team, the Orix Buffaloes. The Dodgers paid the Buffaloes $50.625MM to release him from his contract. If the Marines were to let Sasaki walk this winter, they'd get a small fraction of that amount because of the bonus restrictions. A $10MM bonus for Sasaki would come with a $2MM posting fee for the Marines. That's meager compensation for parting ways with their 23-year-old ace.
Mahle shouldn't even be on that list. Screw him. He owes us money. Somebody send Moose and Rocko to help him find his wallet.DallasAg 94 said:Heaney is a FA.WestTexasAg said:

Opinion: Gray and Dunning will be gone.
Bring on nba / hockey season. Don't care who wins the World Series as long as it's not the Astros.DallasAg 94 said:
