It is the single greatest game of all time. Only player in history to have 3 HR + multiple SB in one game

It was a crazy stat line but the last HR and 3 RBIs were off a position player… still though it is a crazy day

I don't care who they were playing. That is an insane stat line. Imagine if he had pitched and won the game as well. This guy is the closest we've had to Babe Ruth in the modern era.

He also got thrown out trying to stretch a double into a triple. Had he done that, he would have also hit for the cycle.
How dumb do you have to be to keep pitching to him during that game. Just IBB and move on

Based on greatness of player (or lack there of), a case should be made for Hard Hittin' Mark Whiten, who went 4 for 5 with 4 runs scored, 4 homers, and 12 RBI - tied for the 9-inning single game record - on September 7, 1993.
Entering the game, Whitten had 18 HR and was hitting .248 with a .402 slugging percentage through 138 games.
That fateful game, he hit:
A grand slam in the top of the first inning off Larry Luebbers.
A three-run homer in the top of the 6th of Mike Anderson.
Another three-run homer in the top of the 7th to give him 10 RBI, also off Anderson
A two-run bomb off Mr. Sunshine himself, Rob Dibble, in the 9th.
he raised his slugging percentage 30 points in one game in early September. He only hit 3 more home runs for the rest of the year and hit 105 TOTAL in 11 years (939 games), and only hit 20 or more once the rest of his career.

he went 4 for 20 against SD; better than your prediction but certainly not great. Dodgers made Mets look silly last night, curious how this afternoon goes.
So far the reverse is happening today.
