That Brewers logo and this Hartford Whalers logo are the best there are with incorporating letters into the design.

Let's blow y'all's minds with this one too…. The space between the whale's tail and the W here forms an H.

Iconic.

I know you've been saying this 2015, but I was kinda hoping the other teams being interested would save the front office from themselves

This is going to be big owners who want to spend what they want and not share revenue, coupled with small owners that do not want be be forced to spend any money at all versus mid level teams that can't afford their own free agents and who don't have the massive media packages.

I think this one may get ugly.

Maybe we can just defer it for 10 years?

Same or similar colors as the Seahawks throwback unis they wore this season which were a big hit.

When i hear Hartford Whalers i think of Mallrats:

As for old MLB logos/uniforms mentioned on the last page, the Marlins had it perfect the first time and should bring back the OG colors.

Also that Brewers logo is arguably the greatest in MLB history.

Speaking of logos and such, it was just this past year that I learned the reason the Mets are blue & orange like they are. It's the colors of the Dodgers & Giants who left New York for the West Coast.

This is more likely to happen than Bregman. Not saying either is likely necessarily, but there's a legitimate possibiity that Arenado is the Astros third baseman next year.

From a defensive standpoint, Framber, Brown, & McCullers gotta be hoping we improve our INF defense. I think we'd be better off with a defensive minded 2B than 3B at this point.

If it's going to happen, I hope it does soon. I'm ready for the will they / won't they with Alex to be over, and trading for Nolan would put the final nail in that coffin.

And from what I'm told it's the "nerds" in the front office who want Nolan. I'm not sure if it's the defensive metrics or if there's something they think they can tinker with or what. But supposedly this isn't a Crane thing (at least not by himself)

Arenado at third and Paredes at second would be an upgrade overall from last year, not even including Walker. Hopefully Pena bounces back as well.

I really like the idea of having one of if not the best infield in MLB.

So, something like:

Astros get: Arenado, Fedde, money?
Cardinals get: Montero, Spaghetti?

I assume with Gamel signing on, Donovan is off the table, right?

Arenado could be JD Martinez or he could be Captain Lou Abreu. It's a crap shoot that I would hate to being on the losing side of.

gamel's contract only becomes guaranteed if he makes the opening day roster, easy to move on from him if an improvement is an option

Yeah but you lose nothing if he doesn't. If you trade for a guy and then have to choose between the two and you pick Gamel, your wasted resources trading for him

Donovan and Gamel aren't even remotely similar to each other. Donovan is exponentially better.

Dana already has a lot of haters, and trading Spencer who played high school ball in Katy would def add to the list. I like it.

I don't think any player has suffered as rapid of a demise as Abreu. He reestablished the lower end of the spectrum to the point where guys previously in the low end are now closer to average.

100% agree. What he showed last August should be enough to only trade him for unreal talent. In a four out of five start stretch vs Tampa, Boston, Baltimore (road) and Philly (road), he had a 6 IP, 1 ER, 12 K game, a 7 IP, 2 H, 13 K game, a 6 IP, 3 H 0 R game, and a 7-2/3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 11 K game. He just turned 25 last month. DO NOT TRADE>
Mr. Awesome Time

I really only like the idea of it if improves the team because Arrighetti has a lot of promise, but if it makes overly-critical/irrational Astros fans mad, some of whom already want Dana gone, then that's a positive as well.

I'm a little tired of the wrap our GM is getting from a certain contingent with what he has been dealt since coming to Houston, basically. Thankfully this board is not part of that element of the fan base.

Gotta give something to get something and if we want a significant OF upgrade it's gonna cost us.

Just an FYI on how players are valued.

Arenado -15.4
Fedde 15.3
Donovan 29.1

Montero -11.5
Arreighetti 20.5

If were to go after someone like Donovan it would cost an Arrighett and more. We'd also not be able to throw in Montero.

If we wanted to do the deal mentioned above, the Cards would need to throw in another 5-6 M to make it "even".

Just tell the Cardinals the value difference is a final penalty for them hacking us all those years ago.

I agree. There is a certain Houston Astros Facebook fan page that is constantly blaming Dana Brown for everything when he is actually the one putting out fires from before he got here. I try to get facebook to ignore or unfollow that page but my algorithm apparently keeps making it pop back up.
