Something pretty odd I heard today about the Cease negotiations…Ultimately, we didn’t want to give up Brice Matthews. But, outside of that, I also heard Cease made it clear to the Padres he did not want to come to the Astros specifically. Sounds like he’s very soft. This is true

Zero chance we extend Pena now and I wouldn't be surprised if we trade him in the off-season to try and rebuild our farm system

I obviously don't trust Bonda but if true how tremendously stupid as a pitcher to not want to go to Houston.
I guess some are still scared of the scandal, which is ridiculous, but my God, go to the Astros, get incredible insight from M&M, increase your value ten fold, maybe even get a ring, and then you're on the free market and can call your shot. Dumb if even remotely true.

So that's a little over $23 mil a season for 3 years for age 31-33 range for Correa, not crazy
I am thinking of Sanchez and Urias as a platoon bat. Both have significant splits, and Altuve can keep sliding between 2B and LF.

The other option is just a straight platoon of Sanchez with Dubon in the OF given that both are .800+ OPS in their platoon splits.

If Dubon remains in the lineup a lot, then Urias also will as a pure UTL.

Got a decent utility man, a LH OFer, and an upgrade at 3B. All upgrades and finally gets some of these AAAA players out our lineup all without giving up much of anything.
But weren't able to land a starter or BP arm
