Did we ever find out if the MN money for Correa's contract is front loaded to keep us under the cap this year? Would make a big difference in what we get from losing Framber if we can stay under the cap this season.
It doesn't matter how they pay it out; it's the average. We are definitely over. The tweet yesterday about being under was fake news.
this is kind of what you're saying, but IMO it's mostly about the opportunity cost of playing him in LF vs 2B.txags92 said:RED AG 98 said:
I guess mostly because I think he's worse at LF than at 2B.
Statistically at least, you are wrong. And he has fewer opportunities to hurt us at LF than at 2B. It is going to get interesting when Yordan gets back to see where the two of them end up in the lineup. It is easier when facing lefties because you won't want Sanchez in the lineup for that, but it would seem we have one extra player for the RHP lineup unless Cam slides over and plays some CF.

Someone more well-versed with the stats will have to chime in to paint the full picture, but the broad strokes of it that he's not a good hitting LF, but he is still a good hitting second baseman and I don't think the defense either position matters nearly as much as the offense.
Everyone is focusing so much on his defensive capabilities, but his offense and his replacement's offense are going to be much more important to the result of the W/L in the long run. So its really about whether the lineup is more improved by the guy who replaces him in left vs. second base.
Not that these are necessarily going to be the guys every time but in general, the question is are we better with:
Jose at second and Sanchez in LF, or
Jose in left and Dubon at 2B?
My gut says Jose at second. Stats guys please confirm or deny.
The Yankees have released Marcus Stroman.

Mets signed Jefry Yan to a minor league deal. He’s vibes and his nickname is “La Sentencia,” - “The Judgment” - which goes incredibly hard. pic.twitter.com/jHEW1BEUOc

The deal is rejected by our model as an overpay by Texas.
I don't get why they paid so much for a rental #3. It makes sense why so few starters were moved with the prices teams were asking.

Hey guys - something cool going on right now.
My nephew's little league all-star team is in the regional tournament for the chance to go to Williamsport. They are representing Texas East. Their little league is Lamar.
Today is their first game, and they are actually playing right now.
My nephew is currently on the mound pitching.
They are showing these games in ESPN+

Josie is gonna end up getting burned on his chase to 3k
Between the COVID year and the anticipated work stoppage in 2027 he's gonna miss out on a lot of hits.

if Yordan returns and Sanchez rakes...
there will be a little pressure on Jake to pick up where he left off at the plate (once he returns)
even more so if Cam resurges

Yeah I'm not saying he won't get it but it won't be as easy as it could be if he didn't lose those big chunks of time.

Could always DH Altuve more with Yordan out.

Dr. Nick has indeed completed a thorough medical examination concluding that Correa does indeed have two arms and two legs that seem to most likely be attached to his torso.

The Twins’ firesale is glorious for their minor leaguers as the Twins call up 8 in one day, resurrecting memories of the old September call-up days when rosters could be expanded to 40 https://t.co/C61zQgcMuQ

Will it also be on SCHN, or am I SOL for tonight?
