There were some really good swings and hard hit outs. If some of those fall, different series altogether. They'll get it turned around this week.

The Minnesota Twins were the ones who brought up Christian Walker in the Carlos Correa trade talks. The Astros declined. https://t.co/Qv3mjsU1XI

There seems to be radio silence on both Yordan and Jake. Is the death knell tolling?

under the category of hope springs eternal...
last year's Astros were still puttering around after 112 games
the 2024 club was 57-55
(but about to get hot)

I fully expect Yordan to be shut down, try rehab, then have surgery in February. We'll see him in late May.

They went out and got real players so it's probably not a good strategy.

Just checked in to see we got swept by another terrible team.
Walker hits two homeruns and they are meaningless. His rare production outside of the west coast trip has been mostly meaningless this year. I'm going to do some deep thinking tonight and to find out if I hate Rogers or Walker more. Tough choice.

What does this even mean?

The Red Sox are terrible?
They're 3 games off the pace of the best team in the AL

Just saw that the benches cleared today in the Astros-Red Sox game because Neris was mad that a Boston runner on second could see his grip and was relaying it to the batter.
Not that it's a super crazy event, but it is really strange how the Astros and their fans act about "sign stealing." Their defense of using wires and cameras and trash cans is that "sign stealing" has always been a part of baseball. A buddy of mine was just doing this bit with me again recently.
Players on the field doing what they can to gain an advantage has always been a part of the game, part of the offensive strategy, and something you try to prevent as a pitcher-catcher duo. Using cameras, new technology, and dugout trash cans has never been part of baseball until the Astros did it.
Such strange behavior and apparently it penetrates both the organization and the fanbase.

He's a defense first catcher. I wasn't a fan of the pick but he's not going to be an .800+ OPS bat in the majors.Ag4life80 said:
Janek is hitting .260 in high A. Not a dominant player that you'd hope a first round pick would be.
