I honestly can't remember if I updated Astros Bingo today or not so I'm doing it now. Not much to update when everyone on our team sucks at the same time all weekend.
IT'S NOW OR NEVER
The Rockies' margin of error is down to zero. They have to go 51-0 to have a .500 season.
THE WORST SQUARES
Here are the worst squares to have picked that are due to ineptitude, not injury.
Yainer Diaz: 90+ RBI. He's halfway there! Just needs 45 more RBI in 50 games. 7 people picked that.
Christian Walker: Team OPS leader. If you count the new guys, he's currently 12th at .696. But he is on pace for 170 strikeouts!
Justin Verlander: 10+ wins. Going for ol' #2 tonight.
Ryan Pressly: 25+ saves. SI says the Twins are talking to him. Would be a nice way to go full circle since he started there and the Twins are pretty much done with any high-stake games this year. Nothing like having the guy you picked for a square get released mid-season. I think I had Dennis Rodman in fantasy basketball on year when some team cut him, might have been the Mavericks. It was a weird feeling.
The A's average more fans in Sacramento than they did in Oakland: I'm on the hook for this debacle. They averaged 11,386 in their lame duck finale in Oakland. This year, they're at 9,693 in Sacramento. Since COVID, the A's have averaged 8,660, 9,849, 10,276, 11,386, and 9,693. The last time they averaged digits in the thousands was 1979, a team I now want to know everything about.
