While I agree in principle, I don't think he's turned down 13/600 deal

He's got a 1.1 WAR thru 18 games. If if remotely continues this pace the entire season, I could see a world where he turns that down and pushes for something like 650. That MLBPA can never seem to have the next guy make the same as the guy last year.

Keep in mind Tucker is older than Soto and Vlad. I think 12 years is probably the max he gets. At $40 M a year it's "only" $480.

Local kid. Went to Sam. He's got like a true 6 pitch mix. The Astros pitching lab has him relying on the 4 seam more vs RHH with his already highly used sweeper but fewer sinkers. Vs LHH more cutters and change ups, fewer sweepers. Walls are down. Strike outs are up. He's been surgical with his location.

I apologize for TMI, but I'm going through something really lousy and I'm going to be leaning on this thread and the Astros to try and get through a lot of the upcoming struggle. I apologize for my post count quadrupling over the rest of the season because 50% of my posts (low estimate) are usually dumb.

A sports show I listen to says "baseball is boring, but it happens a lot". I laugh way too hard when they say that.

But yes it can be a good distraction in times of struggle. Hoping things work out as good as possible for Mr. 1836
