This has series has given me 2015 ALDS vs KC PTSD

Cards just dink and dunking then knocking guys in. Every break going their way. Wearing out the foul lines.

Every pitch they touch with a bat turns into hits and runs.

This team sucks.

The real answer is probably mid-May but there are so many problems without obvious solutions that there's going to have to be a lot of progress.

The offense isn't playing well right now, but the team itself is in position to go once the offense shows up.

I think it's perfectly fine to have concerns now. But we have 90% of the season remaining.

Go back and look at the 2022 offense and team overall in Mar/Apr.

honestly, the American League is so bad this year...(see the interleague record)...

the standings won't mean much until after the all-star break or after August

There is a lot of season left, and we can recover. The metrics show we should be better than we are right now -- but just overall -- this team is a difficult watch.

Also - I cannot reiterate this enough - Yordan, Walker, Diaz, and Altuve will not continue to have the OPS stats they have right now.

Altuve had .790 OPS last season and is at .788 10% of the way through this season while on pace for 150+ strikeouts and 40 walks (last season he upped his strikeout record from 91 to 119 while walking 44 times).

This might be who he is at this point in his career as he tries to hit his way to 3000.
I hope for better but fear worse.

Altuve has been good this year.

Yordan will be fine.

Diaz and Walker I'm assuming won't be hitting in the .100s but I wouldn't imagine they finish the season over .260. I'd predict they have down years compared to their 2024 production
