If we are really going to pay a lot for Cease, seems like we won't have what's necessary to get those guys
If Cease is trying the big target, then there will presumably be at least 1-2 players currently on the roster going out, even if guys like Matthews or Melton. We need experienced depth, so Urias doesn't necessarily block another bat move.
We need to have at least one of Urias or Dubon coming off the bench so that we can stop relying on Whitxomb for depth.

If they had a chance, why would they get Urias? Not trying to be an ass, I just don't understand why it's necessary to get him when you have Dubon who can play there and probably give equivalent offense

That's the Twins trying to drive a better deal for Correa. They know they are stuck with him and that contract and they want no part of it. They have to know they will need to sweeten this deal with someone like Castro or eat a bunch of that contract.
Crane is no dummy. If he's willing to absorb a significant chunk of the remaining contract he's going to get a good deal, especially if Correa cooperates.
Twins really should be trying to drum up competition for the Astros in pursuing Correa.
As long as it's just the Astros they aren't going to get a good deal.
As long as Correa says no to anybody but the Astros, we hold all the leverage.

There are no other takers… they know it and we know it
Give up zero players and they pick up a portion of the contract, end of story. Don't like it or don't want to make a deal? No problem have fun eating that for the next 3 seasons we are moving on

The Rays have something cooking. It's a three-team deal and Serwinowski, the lefty, is going elsewhere. Not sure where, but... that's not my problem at the moment

Cheap, plays INF, would be better than Whitcomb, Matthews (at least now), Guillorme and would allow Dubon to get off 3B if needed.
A little fish, but an upgrade over the minnows we have.
