It's not that they are not trying to make a deal, but they need one that makes sense.

I would argue there have been / will be plenty of trades made for insignificant returns. We already made one (which I count in the "you've done nothing" category), if they get no one else, it's a failure. I don't care how hard they tried, I care what they accomplished. No participation trophies.

No kidding.

It seems like the obvious play is to eat the Correa contract in return for more talent coming our way. Not my money to spend, but it is the one proven way to overcome a lack of trading chips.

The problem with getting even more players in return is you still have to pay them too.

This is really up to CC I think. How badly does he want to be there next year on a team that's being broken apart? Sure he gets paid but it's purgatory.

It feels like CC could force the issue.
