DFA'ing Joc after 14 games, with a 2 year $37M contract? Not happening. He'll come around but he needs to be moved in the line up till he gets going .

Josh Smith needs to lead off. He consistently puts together great ABs and gets on base. Semien has been a below average hitter for over a year now.

You've absolutely gotta move Joc down in the lineup or flat out out of it right now. He's maybe the biggest reason this lineup isn't producing at a higher clip. He comes up with guys on and is the most unproductive at-bat in the lineup. They're hitting the ball, it's just not strung together right now because you have guys in key spots that are complete black holes. I'm also still over the Leody Taveras experiment.

Not sure what the solution is exactly till Langford comes back but Seager, Smith and Jung need to be hitting back to back to back. When Langford gets back throw in the that mix as well.

Look, if he's our version of Abreu for Houston, you gotta eat the contract. It happens. Sometimes, people just can't play anymore. Maybe he shows otherwise in the month aheadbut if he's our version still sucks this bad by mid May, he's gotta be DFA'd.

Joc Peterson isn't getting DFA'd in May. That's just not happening.

Now can he become injured and need a lengthy rehab in the minors? Absolutely.

Look, I don't want to get into a 10 paragraph stats post, but if you go look at Joc's baseball reference and savant page, he's having the worst start to a season of his entire career. It's not even close. He's also played a decade+ in the league, he'll come back to some level of norm eventually. We're paying him to much and he's too much of a known commodity to DFA him, come on now.

With that being said, I do think you need get serious about what you're getting from him right now and what you might get from him moving forward. He's a real problem.

Perhaps you didn't read the part where I said if it's not improving by mid May, then they need to consider something. And yes, it needs to be DFA or trade if you cannot get anything better out of him than this.

Mid-May is like 1/4 of the season. You don't DFA a proven player with a big contract early in the season. Especially if the player has a 2 year deal. This is silly. I'm all for moving him around in the order though.
