New to this thread but just wanted to add that yall need to soak it in because it can end in a heartbeat.

My son is a freshman at a very high level 6A school. During football season they began fall ball baseball games where the few kids who were doing both would run straight from football practice over to the baseball field and start games. First 2 games went great, he was 2-3 in both and converted every opportunity in the field including throwing a kid out from left field trying to go 2nd to home. Well the 3rd Wednesday night game comes and it was a mess for everyone. The coach calls both teams together and said it's going to slow so from now on if you strike out you lose the ability to bat. My son was the next batter up and of course….struck out. He follows coaches orders and removes himself from the batting lineup the rest of the night(others did not). After the game he is a mess and worried that he is going to get cut but we have a good friend who coaches at a cross town school and who trains him that assured him he's fine. The next day, during football game preparation practice, the baseball coach pulls him aside in front of football players and tells him to not worry about coming back for fall ball and if he wanted to try out in the spring he could but it would be tough. Two kids chose not to play fall ball and they both are getting to play because they didn't cut anyone who moved into the baseball class but cut every football player who played fall ball(5 of them).

That was it……baseball career over in the blink of an eye. Following his former teammates now who only play baseball is tough. They had their last scrimmage yesterday and season starts this week. He hasn't reached the point that he even wants to go watch yet.
. Play summer ball somewhere. Friend whose son couldn't make the high school team (should have. I saw their team) swam in high school but played summer ball. I was proud of him for not letting a stupid HS coach take baseball away from him.

I accomplished a great little league feat I've always aspired to.

We are just in a city rec league for 12u. Coach starts stressing that he is sorry he didn't get a snack schedule out to the parents. I spoke up and said, "aren't they a bit old for snacks? How about a vote to see who actually cares?"

10-3 vote in favor of no snacks. Always question the societal norms!

Do kids at RockerB do the pin trading? We're going for the first time this year and want to order some for the team if that's still a thing

Did not see pin trading when we went last year.

My son's 8 and these parents are bringing toys for snacks. It's crazy. They're getting inflatable bats and crazy stuff. I just help out coaching and game changer instead of doing the snack rotation.

Loving coaching both of my boys Little League teams. The older one (Intermediate 50/70) is especially fun with leadoffs and no restrictions on steals. Put together a pretty good team (with some somewhat decent coaching from me) and currently leading the league. Years past we have always landed on one of the worst teams, not necessarily because of talent, but poor coaching. I've got two great assistant coaches that make it all that much more enjoyable. Only one parent complaint so far as well, which I take as a win.

9u rec ball is exciting. our coach doesnt worry about strike zone ... just hit. we are routinely getting 10-12 'hits' per game. Usually 4-6 BBs and then a few SO.

12u AA - my kids team hits and it is fun. worst game was 8 hits. other teams - our pitchers look like pitching machines and the opponents are trying to walk. so the majority of them get one meaningful swing per at bat. It is hard to watch. Coaches - kids are throwing 60% strikes. start swinging. When we pick up AAA there is A LOT more swinging and a lot more fun.

overall good. we are 75% winners in 9u and 50% winners in 12u

my nephew played for the wildcatters for a few seasons I believe, he's a football specialist but also plays BB and runs track, he will be a Junior in HS this fall. 6'3" rocket arm and runs a 10.4 100. I believe he was in the high 80's for velo but could be wrong.

Pretty sure he's still playing baseball but don't know if it's only HS now. Houston travel BB is wild AF with people paying kids to play and whatnot.

I know your nephew and his dad pretty well. How's his dad's health been? Haven't been able to catch up with him in a bit?

He's doing better thank god, thought we were gonna lose him last year, and I promise you I wasn't ready to bury my baby brother. Muster, taps all of it. Was not ready. He's not totally out of the woods but 1000% improvement .

Wonder if the ineligible kid is Lane, Jr. since he transferred to Grapevine for his senior year from FW Wyatt.

Just saw this news break and that would be my guess. The reason for the ineligibility is a residency related issue.

Evidently it was multiple kids and none of them were Lane.

Obviously biased as a local, but Tomball is looking like the team to beat again this year in playoffs. Hopefully I can get my boys to some of the games to watch, they sure are fun.

It will be great to see several of them continue on at A&M. Told my oldest (10) that he might be able to get a Sampson A&M jersey in a few years.

Tomball is definitely looking tough.

Out of our district I expect Atascocita to make a deep run. Kingwood too but I don't think they quite have the team as last year's state champs. Memorial is loaded with arms.

Is it a thing to win a series immediately run all the way to OF scoreboard beat on the wall

Come in shake hands team line then run back to scoreboard and take team pictures in front of home team scoreboard?

Over the top clown shows

Curiosity question here...

My youngest is 14U and has played ball since he was three. Never been overused or abused as a pitcher, which was his best attribute in the game through 13U.

However, ran into elbow pain 18 months ago. Originally was thought to be a response to compensate for some shoulder pain and have shut him down twice. Both times he completed throwing programs without pain, but pain returned once he got on the mound... initially during a bullpen and the more recent time (this February) his first tournament outing.

Have seen a reputable sports ortho in Frisco, TX where we live who adds ultrasound to X-ray as part of his analysis. He's been great and helped heal my older son (Senior-to-be) with a UCL strain.

Back to my younger son: originally thought to also have a UCL strain in the fall, recent imaging shows a perfectly healthy UCL/other tendons. Further, he's never had pain when throwing a football (was middle school QB the past two years and doing 7-on-7 work for high school right now) the past two years.

Got a second opinion with an Andrews Certified ortho in Allen who asked a ton of questions and also reviewed the imaging and agreed that everything looked healthy. They then said if it was a tendon or in that ballpark, he would have some level or pain or discomfort when throwing a football.

They concluded that something must be off with his mechanics on the mound. We scheduled an analysis this week where he will be hooked up to some nodes and will throw 20-30 pitches. Data will be analyzed by both a PT and a scientist to determine where he can be more efficient/clean in order to avoid pain going forward.

Anyone else had a kid go through this where the pitching motion/mechanics were reworked to stay pain-free? How did it go? Any tips or tricks of which we should be aware?
