Abreu had good seasons in both 2024 and 2025 with 2025 being better than 2024.

In 25 he had an ERA of 2.28 (career ERA of 2.90), OPS against of .567 (career OPS of .620), WHIP of 1.155 (career WHIP of 1.210), HR/9 of 0.5 (0.8 for his career), and K/9 of 13.3 (career of 12.3)

So I'd say he was better than typical Abreu in 2025.

Jose Altuve's second-inning single gives him 2,416 for his career, tying him for 123rd all-time with HOF third baseman Pie Traynor. Traynor is on the Pirates' Mount Rushmore, playing all 17 years of his career with them and hitting .300 or more 10 times. During his career (1920-1937), the Pirates played in the cavernous Forbes Field, leading Traynor to hit 164 career triples, 30th-most in MLB history. He had double-digit triples a staggering 11 times.

Remarkably, he never won a batting title despite hitting .356 in 1929 and .366 in 1930. Lefty O'Doul hit .398 in 1929, Traynor finished seventh in batting that year. In 1930, he hit .366 and finished ninth in batting average. Bill Terry hit .401 in a batting race that saw 4 guys hit above .380.

He hit .346 with a 1.029 OPS in the 1925 World Series, which the Pirates won over the Senators.
