Question of the Day: Is it just me or is some of your baseball pain mitigated seeing Corey Seager batting .179 after 42 games for Arlington? Homeboy is on pace for 103 hits in 574 at-bats this year. Maybe I'm in the minority but I've always liked Seager. I'm partial to guys who show up in the playoffs. Regardless of what happens the rest of the contract, I have to think they consider it a W since he helped get their only WS.

I don't necessarily dislike him. He's like Aaron judge and Mookie Betts. They haven't done anything to be unlikable. I just hate the team they play for.
And yeah I'd say they 100% consider that contract a win. Also add on the WS MVP he got for them.
You know I had been content to blame Joe, Dana, and Jim, but now I see the real problem. You guys have gone soft on hating the Rangers.

No matter how bad we were playing last year, we always seemed to get up for the rangers. Sweeping them in September last year made us believe we were playoff bound again

Semien is why I'm convinced something is wrong with WAR as a stat. He somehow was second in tbd AL in WAR in 2023 with an OPS of .826. I just can't be convinced baserunning and defense from a 2B is that important. Seager had a lower WAR with an OPS over 1.000 and he's a SS for God's sake.
