Is there not a warm body in SL or Corpus that can pitch better than Weiss? What an F-up by Dana to sign this scrub.

Won't be enough to fix this staff.

Can someone please explain why Araghetti did not make the opening day roster but Weiss did? Again this is an example of Dana and Joe blundering a roster decision. I'm at the point that both have to go.

If the front office is really smart they would look for those 2028-2030 seasons as the potential to be back to playoff worthy. There are a couple of prospects that are trending really high and we could make moves this trade deadline and off-season that would make us a lot better for that two or three year window

You really need to hit on this draft because it'll be the earliest you have picked in about a decade and there are a lot of great college bats. Also in the 2027 draft you are probably gonna be picking in the top half of the 1st round as well

If I'm Crane, I have the 4-game home series against the Mariners (11-14 May) marked on my calendar. If we still look like total dog **** after that series, Dana and Joe will be gone.

What does firing Dana do? I agree he is more culpable for the roster issues than Joe so on that point why fire one without the other. However, we have a potentially viable manager replacement but who is your GM the rest of the year?

Especially if we are even slightly considering a sell off, we need someone in that role. Lunhow is available though?

What hurts the most is we went from the smartest, analytics-driven club in the league to the dumbest. Now we have Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum as our GM and manager.

Swallow your pride Crane and make Lunhow an offer he can't refuse.

If that's the case he's gone until August.

This "issue" for the Rays is an opportunity for us. I'd love to get Bodine as a future catcher. Really good defensively with limited pop but unlike Janek he's both a switch hitter and has a great hit tool.

Thanks Dana... He cannot be allowed to run the draft and deadline, terrible at talent evaluation

I think both should be fired (and now). If one has to go, it has to be Dana. This roster (especially the pitching side), his FA signings, his draft picks, and the farm system in general, is a disaster. We have 2 infielders playing in our outfield as primary starters. They both are learning on the job at the MLB level. Dana did not address this during the offseason.

The very last thing I'd want is for Dana to have any hand at all in trades or the next draft if we start a rebuild. I don't know who would replace him. We may have to wait until the offseason to find the right hire.

Just a ****ty situation all around.

If I had to choose one to go it would 100% be Dana.

If you give Joe the roster and less injuries he'd be fine. But Dana took over a 106 win team with a relatively young intact core and we've gotten worse exponentially ever since though bad drafts, bad contracts, not extending guys when he should have, and not getting value for guys that left (besides Tucker)

While I agree Dana needs to go, I think Joe is as big or a bigger problem. He let Framber be toxic in the clubhouse and has zero feel for the game. Is the roster flawed? Yes. Should the same roster had a better record last year and this year? Absolutely. I also believe Dana would have traded Framber and gotten value for him last year if Crane would have allowed it. Just look at what he did with Tucker. And as bad as the Janak draft pick was, it looks like we struck gold with Neyens. At the end of the day, I don't trust either, but I think Joe is a bigger issue than Dana.

I'd be okay with Joe finishing out the year, but I don't wanna Dana having any hand in this upcoming draft.

If Dana were to be fired mid-season, is the talent pool for hires as good as after October?

If this ends up being the case, then I'd rather not trade anyone at the deadline this year. Save everything for the new GM. Dana is likely to trade HB and Pena for a 5th starter and a washed up first baseman.

I don't think there would be any hires made midseason. Just an earlier jump to identify the next GM. It also keeps a lame duck GM from messing things up internally.
