I guess that eliminates trading Isaac for pitching. Sadly Carlos getting hurt actually impacts our pitching depth.

This clears up the infield logjam temporarily.

This is the infield from last year before CC was acquired. This may actually help Paredes get completely back on track by knowing he will be in the lineup at 3rd almost every day.

This creates a hole. Pena will rehab this weekend, and we'll probably see him in about a week or so. That means we get every day play from Nick Allen or Braden Shewmake.

I think it has to be Shewmake..he's hitting over .300 with the Astros..ride the hot hand until it cools off..

Have they said what he did? It was a late scratch yesterday so I'm assuming it was something in BP or warm ups.

If he slipped on a step in the dugout and rolled it I'm going to laugh/cry.

In a weird way it helps Dana as I assume CC will go on the 60 day IL and that will create a free spot on the 40 man roster. Dana can use that if he wants on a pitcher. He gets another spot back if/when we get the next OFer back and he can jettison Harris. In theory when Pena comes back he could do the same with Shewmake but the CC injury now leaves them an INF short. Unless you want to roll with Whitcomb as back up.

Now, given the catastrophic injuries and the current record, does it make sense for Dana to do this? It's the first week in May and the season is already at a tipping point where they may be throwing in the towel.

Did CC get an unauthorized back massage?

I figured he'd be on the IL at some point, so here we are.

At some point it isn't bad luck but organizational failure. Be it ignoring risks in trades/signings/extensions, bad medical reviews/diagnoses/rehabs, inadequate training philosophy, various and sundry other factors.

It's just what happens and professional teams run out of gas. It's impossible to hit on every decision you make and late stage dynasty teams have to make a ton of them. I wish we hit on more, but we didn't. The team has aging players who are injured more, front office turnover, an MLB commissioner kneecapping them, longer contracts with higher salaries and a poor/depleted farm system from plugging holes and winning so much for a decade.
