For future reference if you are going during the holidays.

We went the after Thanksgiving leaving that Sunday to had to Orlando. We had tix for the after-hours special at MK - Mickey's Holiday Party or something along those lines. They're about $100 each.

The park closes at 7 or 9 (I forget which) for regular guests, and anyone w/the after-hours pass has an arm band. you don't need a ticket for the day to attend the AH event - just a ticket to the event. The park is open until 1am for the event.

you can get in at least an hour ahead of when they say the event starts. When we made it through security Main St was absolutely packed. it felt like Mardi Gras on Bourbon. Once we made it past that however the park was essentially empty.

The Main ST crowd were people that had to clear out by a certain time waiting for the final fire works show of the evening for the regular ticket holders.

It was wild walking up the Peter Pan ride and not waiting 1 second - just walk through the queue and hop on. We did the same for all of the rides - Haunted Mansion, Pirates, and only waited about 3 minutes for the Jungle Cruise only because they were waiting for the boats to get properly spaced.
Staff - take out the trash.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is definitely worth the extra money. As it gets later and the crowds really thin out, the cast members don't even make you get off the rides. You can stay on as many times as you want.

This is an excellent tip. I remember wondering where everybody went.

Just to piggyback on tips for avoiding crowds, you can get an extra 2 hours at Epcot on mondays and Magic kingdom on Wednesdays after park closes if you're staying in a deluxe level hotel. Everything was walk on at those events too and this was during Thanksgiving when it was really crowded throughout the day.

This could change any time but for now this perk has been in place for a few months and they've continued extending it through the first part of May for now.

I know this is a flyer, but TexAgs has never let me down. If anyone is going to be at DW and in the parks 12/18-12/21 and wants to split a Private VIP Tour, please let me know. We will have 4. Can have up to 10 on the tour. They are the only way to do the parks, IMO. Private transportation, front of the lines, reserved private seating for the fireworks. We try to do it on our first day in the park which would be 12/18, but we could move it if someone else wanted to join (and split the cost). TIA!

The express unlimited pass allows you to skip regular lines at most rides and attractions as many times as you want. The express pass only allows you to skip the line one time for each participating ride.

If you are staying at a Premier resort, you will have an express unlimited pass to go along with your resort stay.

I book Universal too, so feel free to reach out to me.

If you are purchasing tickets through me, you will also have the option for early admission.

I would recommend the pass that gets you to the front once. Unless you're really hardcore about specific ride(s) or how long you plan to be there for the day?

Minnie Vans returning this summer. Connected through the Lyft app, the SUVs can shuttle guests between the Disney World resorts, parks and Disney Springs. Each vehicle can accommodate up to six guests.

Chris, any tips for a group of 6 (4 adults 2 grade school kids) for a weekend in October? Prefer Deluxe accommodations but fewer one-room options it seems. Have stayed at Poly and AK Kidani Village in the past.

I have a 3.5 year old and a 7 year old and we tinkered with the idea of taking them later this year, but I have absolutely no idea what the total cost of a 4-5 day stay would be.

What's a ballpark figure for that on average?

Go to disboards.com. They have very good travel planning forums. Remember you need to make park reservations and dining reservations for sit down restaurants. Buy tickets now to make your park reservations. A good ticket source is Undercover Tourist.

I would check the park availability calendar https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/availability-calendar/?segments=tickets,resort,passholder&defaultSegment=tickets
for that time period before doing anything else. There are already several days that not all parks are available. You can still make it work with a park hopper pass but you will not be able to change parks until you scan into the one you reserve and then wait till 2pm.

Id say, all in your 8k for 4 nights at a deluxe resort with park hopper. Flights, transportation, meals

You can book things out on their webpage for hotel, tix and transportation. You can even book it for just a small deposit. (I think it's $200 unless they've raised that)

Final payment is due 30 days prior. That would be in the 5k range.

Of course you will book flights earlier

Meals and misc will be due when you a check out.

So you may have something like this:

Plans dates, book hotel/tix now, pay $200

Book flights : ~$1000-1500?

30 days prior pay balance of room/tix: ~5k

Go to wdw for 5 days and pay ~1000-1500 food misc

That's been my experience anyway. Obviously there are less expensive ways: drive. Stay at moderate or economy hotel. Stay off properly. Be very mindful of meals and snack costs.

I would strongly consider paying to stay on property if you can afford it. I've always felt that way due to the "Disney bubble". It's total escapism, but that's what I'm paying for to go so I want it 24/7

I'd try and save on going with a less expensive resort than deluxe. Then save on being mindful of meals and snacks. Skip park hopper.

I'll be honest, there are a lot of add ons now with beanie plus and lighting lanes. I don't like it and haven't found my recent trips as enjoyable. That may also be due to the fact my kids are getting older. All that being said, if my kids were 3 and 7 I'd try to go and just enjoy it and not worry too much about costs. Those are good ages to go and you'll have good memories

So, IF you can afford it, I'd do it. And IF you can afford it, I'd just go all in. Get meals with characters, don't sweat the $6 ice cream or $12 beers. If I could afford it but had to cut back in eating out for 6 weeks before hand or something like that, that's what I'd do.

My $0.02

Check Costco travel

https://www.costcotravel.com/h=1014

I would say $6k-$8k depending on where you're staying and what kind of meals you do.

We get Groceries (mostly fruits and snacks) delivered to our hotel on Day 1 and my kids usually survive on fruits, snack bars, pretzels, chicken strips and lots of treats while at the park. Last year we started doing door dash for dinner at the hotel.

Character dining is starting to go back to precovid ways, where the kids can be close and hug the characters. Depending on when you go, i would research if the princess are walking around for Cinderella Royal Table. If they aren't, then I don't think it's worth it.

Another option is the Dolphin or Swan hotel

Costco Travel is good until…

-a promotional discount is announced for your vacation that you already booked
-you encounter an issue while on vacation
-you need assistance making dining reservations
-you need assistance getting transportation from/to the airport
-you have questions about resorts/parks
-you need recommendations on how to plan your day

I am a Costco fan, but as a Disney Vacation Planner I know I bring a lot more to the table than possibly saving a few dollars. I have encountered You are also helping an Aggie small business that wants to make sure you enjoy your trip!

Goodness, I just came across your profile but have already booked our Disney Cruise. I imagine having guidance by an Ag would've helped for sure. Dealing with Disney has been a total beat down to say the least. This will be our 3rd cruise with Disney and their customer service has gone to ***** As much as they charge for these cruises I don't want to hear any excuses why they can't answer the phone. They should have a fast track customer service line no doubt. Not to mention they added Covid testing to board their ship in the 11th hour.

We're going in November with a 5 and 3 year old (technically still 2 so free). 8k seems a little steep to me. We'll be all in for probably 3,500 but our flights will be with points so probably $5k with flights.

Granted we don't spend lots of money on the restaurants and dining experiences. We also aren't doing park hopper because in our experience the kids will probably barely have the energy to really get through one park

I ask this with respect, but what exactly do you offer and why would someone use your services? We are just starting to plan a trip to Disney, but we book our vacations with miles and points, so we will likely have hotels and flights covered. I'd be happy to use an Aggie owned business, I'm just a little unclear on what you offer and the costs associated with that service.

When you book through me, I can assist on booking your resort, apply discounts (if they become available), arrange transportation from/to the airport, assist in park selection, schedule dining reservations, answer questions, provide tips/secrets, and much more. If you are only purchasing tickets, I can still assist.

I can help as much (or as little) as you want with the trip.

My services are free when book through me. I specialize in Disney and Universal.

For those flying to MCO and want a rental car. We save half price going through Undercover Tourist. They now book rental cars and if one buys a ticket, this could be a park ticket or one of many options, you can book a rental car at a great price. We got a Budget car for a week for less than $300. It will link to our fast break program. Oh, the ticket we bought to get the discount was a coupon at Cinemark for popcorn and a drink for $8.00.

Costco was almost $500.

We are thinking of going in early Dec flying in on Sun, parks Mon-Thurs, fly out on Fri. Any recommendations on which hotel for 2 40 year olds and our 10 year old daughter?

Is it worth getting a deluxe resort if we spend most of the day at the parks or better to just get a moderate? We plan on hitting each park for one day. Any recommendations?
