We are in a long taxi line. Ubers 30+ minutes. It is the biggest cluster I've seen.
We called our hotel and they said we had to go to A or B. We thought no thanks, we will get a taxi/Uber. Yeah now wish we had.
Trying to pick up my parents at @iah and I've been basically at a standstill for an hour now... People around us are getting out and walking to make flights. This is insane. #bushairport #wtfisgoingon #houston #iah pic.twitter.com/yW7Srgvv3h

I finally got to Terminal E Arrivals to pick them up at 9:15pm, I first hit the airport traffic at 6:30pm. Absolute insanity.

Houston IAH international arrivals is an absolute sh@tshow! Everyone is outside waiting in single hole traffic for pick up. It’s hot. @houston this is an embarrassment! pic.twitter.com/HoSSNailH6

Does anyone know what the deal is?
I also noticed international flights departing out of C now.
i won't shed a tear for someone with that much emoji salad and a name that doesn't line up with handle.wessimo said:Houston IAH international arrivals is an absolute sh@tshow! Why isn't Sly's intern fixing this?!?
They are driving on the same roads as the cars, so they will have the same problems. I would give yourself an extra 45-60 mins ahead of whatever you usually arrive, just in case the traffic is all snarled up again. The Chicken Ranch said:
I wonder what the situation is like for the shuttles from the remote long term lots? The Parking Spot is the one we are using.
I'm hoping this will be the case for my wife and I. We have a 7:20 am flight this Friday that I believe will be out of Terminal C. I'm hoping we are there early enough to beat the gridlock.JMac03 said:
3 hours should be fine. We made it through quick the other day in C (and flew out of C), but it also was 5:20AM.
I can't speak for taking the tram back to C for the vehicle, but assuming you parked there I would think it would be fine.

From a traffic standpoint, it won't matter. The uber will have to drive on the same roads you will have to for terminal parking, and the same roads the remote parking area buses will have to drive. If you come in through A-B instead of C-D-E, you should be in much better shape in any of those cases.Harry Stone said:
so is it better to drive and park or take an uber to and from airport? we are gonna be out of town for a week and was thinking about taking uber.

How can you take the Skyway (inside security) from E to A/B if you have retrieved your checked bags and have no ongoing ticket once you clear Customs at E?
Or do you mean take the inter-terminal below-ground tram (out of security) from E to C to catch the shuttle?
Normally we connect through IAH from our much smaller regional airport. But this time we are driving to IAH because our international flight is a once a week, Saturday flight. And we don't want to miss it because of a regional jet being hung up at a smaller airport (This happens more than you think).
Thanks for all the answers!
Edit: Just got off the phone with The Parking Spot on JFK. She said allow for 30 to 45 min extra that day we leave, and to go to D once we clear Customs for the ride back to the lot. Hope this helps others.
This. I have used this to save money at Hobby. But beware, on some phones, (I have Iphone Xr), the QR code they send to use when you enter the garage won't display in the email or by going to their website. So take a printed copy of the code with you to use when you enter the garage.bigfooticus said:The Chicken Ranch said:

Skip the Parking spot hassle both ways and pre-pay A/B, discounted rates when pre paying

Have plans to drive to Bush Airport soon? The airport is suggesting that those travelers find an alternate parking spot. Here's where you can find them. https://t.co/PwkmGLdDKv
