So no construction underground and you can take 50 year old basement tram from B to C before security? Have an international flight and would rather check out bags in at C/E than at B.

Correct.

I checked my international bag in B on United without issue a month or so ago so I could clear security and take the Skytrain past security. The nice thing is you can track your actual bag on the app and see it is loaded which typically is way before departure on international, at least on the wide-bodies. I guess you could start raising hell if you saw it hadn't got to your plane prior to departure.

Parking at C/E terminal is a nightmare. Almost missed our flight due to new entrance signs,

What an epic cluster. You would think they would have planned for the traffic disruption. An incredible testament to government planning.

If only there was a 2 year period where almost nobody was flying to do all the construction...

I've been allocating myself more time at IAH for the last few years because I simply park and clear security at B instead of messing with C or E. On return, if I can stay airside, I use the sky train to get back. If not, I often walk the underground stretch from D/E to C because the line has gotten long.

Has anyone been dropped off using UBER at Terminal A this week?

Have a 7am flight tomorrow using Southwest... was wondering how early to be there or if
should head to Terminal B instead?

Any tips are helpful!

In an emergency, a can of Crisco can be used as a candle! Just stick in a piece of string for a wick and light it!

Terminals A & B are not affected by the construction issues as long as you enter via the designated route to those terminals. It is just the entry to the C/D/E terminals that is all screwed up.

I was easily dropped off at A last week, but you can't drop your bags for United there. So I had to go to B anyways.

What's the current status on this? Flying into D on Sunday evening and need an Uber. Still best to head to A/B?

It's not near as bad as it used to be. E is still a construction mess but D is decent.

If you're flying in and doing an Uber just check traffic. Likely fine and can just pick up at E or wherever they have D going these days.

If I park, I park at A/B because you'll never know how it is when you get back.

OK, I failed to heed the warnings on this thread and paid the price.

Tonight it took me about damn near an hour to get to Terminal C Parking from the 59/Will Clayton exit. It was insane on a Friday night.

Overall, it took 2.5 hrs from Galveston to IAH.

I only moved to the island 6 weeks ago so I'm still trying to figure it out but it never took me that long to get to LAX.

Fly out of Hobby?

You can always catch AA to DFW or DL to ATL and connect globally.

Flying to San Jose from IAH at 9 AM tomorrow amd im worried. It says I'm at terminal D. Never been to terminal D in my life. Should i park at ecoPark and take the shuttle to B and do security there? Thats what it says to do. I am not checking anything.

Are you flying United? If so then 100% check in at B.

If not checking luggage, I would use Terminal B for any airline. Just clear security and hop the tram over to D.

PSA for all who travel in/out of IAH and park at B then train to C/D/E

Train from A/B stops at C. Anyone continuing to D/E must disembark train, walk to other side and catch that train to D/E.

Estimated to be this way through end of 2023 or until the cranes used in ongoing terminal construction are removed.

Really??? It wasn't like that on Monday when I transferred from B to D via the underground tram. Is that new in the last couple days?

We flew out of A back in June on AA, and had a Parking Spot driver insist on taking the folks going to C first. Sat in traffic for 45 min. We never made it to C. We got in a shouting match with him and he finally admitted that we will never make it to A. We made him open the door and we bailed out, and took our bags about 100 yards into C, went downstairs, and took the tram to A. Damn near missed our flight. I was so pissed off.

This shouldn't have even affected us, but we had a dumbass driver.

You are talking about the sky tram which is on the secured side whereas OilMan is referring to the underground train which is land side.
