We are planning a last min four day trip to the Keys with our 17 year old twins and a 15 year very active son in two weeks. My husband and I spent two quick days in the keys several years ago but were content just eating, drinking, and sight seeing. Any ideas on things we can do with active teens? Is a side trip to the Everglades on the way south realistic? Maybe a day trip by ferry to Dry Tortugas? My husband also thought about renting a boat. Any ideas would be appreciated. We have been to 30a with them a dozen times and wanted them to give them a different experience than just sitting in a beach. They love anything that has to do with marine life or wildlife in general.

If you're going to Key Largo we have rented Jet Skis with a guide out of Jimmy Johnson's big chill. Very cool to ride through mangroves, the cut and out to the ocean.

Take the plane to Dry Tortugas and snorkel. Our teens loved it. A big splurge but a favorite family memory for sure.

You should talk to the guy that went on a business trip during Fantasy Fest on what you should avoid.

Seriously, we love the keys and take the whole family. The middle keys are our favorite. But definitely take the family on the cat to Dry Tortugas. Zachary Taylor State Park has a nice beach in KW that is kind of chill.

Go snorkeling and fishing in Marathon. Dive or learn how to. Just so many options for us divers!
