My wife and I will hit our ten year anniversary next year. We believe we want to go to Miami in august. I would love to make it something special. Any thoughts on where to stay and what to do. We are also open to moving the trip to the keys.

My clients love Nobu Miami. I just had clients there last week. If you need help planning my contact info is in my bio.

Nobu is a nice spot in mid beach for sure. My wife led their sales team for a few years so stayed many times.

If your trip is after May, the Islamorada resort collection will be just opened after an 80 million renovation. Postcard Inn and Pelican Cove.

Catch a Miami FC game, we did for the ag vs hurricane game and it was a blast. Plenty of star power to get your wifey excited

My clients have loved Nobu Hotel and Eden Roc Miami Beach.

Further north, I really love The Breakers in Palm Beach if you wanted to head that direction instead of towards the Keys.

We had a fantastic dinner at Leku in July 2022. It's basque food.

Also, great food and drinks at Cafe La Trova. Plan your dinner for at least 8pm or later because after that is when the live Cuban music starts. Really fun atmosphere.

Don't pass up getting a Cubano at Sanguich. They make everything from scratch. The sandwich gets brushed down with lard before it goes into the press. A killer sandwich!

Those are my top picks.

Stay at the 1 Hotel, Faena, or Ritz South Beach or The Edition.

Drinks at Faena.

Cuban food at Cafe Versailles.

My wife and I went to South Beach last year for our anniversary as we have done that a few times over the last 20 years. We stayed at The Betsy and loved it. However, South Beach has lost some of its charm to us. Maybe it's because we're in our 50s. Feels like the pretty people are gone and now it's all weed smoking folks that look like they just came off a Carnival cruise ship.

That's a pretty accuse summation of South Beach these days (outside of the resorts) . It's not all that, type but plenty of riffraff hanging around.

We like the South Beach Park for taking kids to swim, but have learned to get out of there before sundown.

I genuinely appreciate the feed back everyone. My wife hates smoke of any kind, so the feedback about the presence of weed smokers is troubling. We took a trip to Chicago recently and the odor of weed became a common theme.

Let me ask this, if you could go anywhere for your tenth anniversary, where would you go? I want this to be a special vacation for us. It is our first trip without kids and I want it to be memorable if we plan to leave them behind.

Thanks in advance,

If you're open to international travel, Sanctuary Cap Cana in the DR would be a good anniversary trip.

Is South Beach really that bad these days? My girlfriends and I are spending a night there in February before flying back home after Key West. I'd rather stay in another area just because South Beach isn't my scene, but one of my friends hasn't been to Miami before and wanted to do SB. If it's truly not a good area at the moment I'm sure I could convince them to switch spots.

It's rowdy during holiday weekends / spring break. Stick to the higher end hotels if you don't want the party crowd.

Ritz South Beach, Faena. 1 Hotel, and Setai. Otherwise don't do it.

Other option is the Ritz in Key Biscayne. Much more laid back and away from the party but close enough to go for the evening still.
