New forecast just posted for CO over the next 10. Big jumps in the Gores and Sawatch. Summit still lagging way behind…

Snowmass - 22 inches expected over 10
Vail/BC - 15-18 inches expected over 10
WC - 56 inches over 10
Purgatory - 48 inches over 10

Keystone/Breck - 4-6 inches through 10.

I know I keep saying it, but if you're headed to Summit County, I'd really look at going anywhere else in the state as the conditions are FAR FAR better anywhere outside of Summit County.

Here are the current snowpack levels vs the 30 average for some of the CO hills, along w PC and JH. WC, Purg, JH, and PC should improve with the set that's hitting over the next 10. Breck and Keystone aren't supposed to pick up much so they will probs stay along the baseline. Vail/BC/Snowmass should finally pop above the average for the first time this season.

So, if you're heading to for MLK, I'd go anywhere but Summit.

Fat dumps coming to most of CO over the next 10-14 days. Most of the state will see 24-48 inches. Dry line is still just west, south, and north of Summit County so they are only expecting 8-9 inches total. Again, you may want to look at pivoting to any of the hills around that dry line as they are already 20+ inches short of the average and missing out on a majority of this roller set. On average we pickup 4-5 of these systems a year and they already whiffed hard on the first two which is why their bases are SO low compared to those around them. So, if they miss out on this one, that's missing out on 50-66% of the heaviest snow producing systems while carrying a base that's 50% lower than the surrounding hills. That's a recipe for a disasterous year when in an El Niño cycle. Things could flow hard in March but as of right now they aren't getting any help from the snow gods.

Headed to Summit County last week of Feb prior to the Spring Break rush, so hopefully things fill in a bit before then. Do you have any rental deals (for kids) in the Frisco/Dillon area? I get decent deals through the Epic Pass but thought I would check just to make sure!

Sumco is still packed last week of Feb. Spring Breaks run the last week of Feb to the first week of April.

It usually goes CA the last week of Feb and first week of March, FL the first and second week of March, TX the second and third week of March, and NY/East Coast the last week of March and 1st week of April.

Colorado High Country schools are usually off 2/26 - 3/1 and then again 4/22 - 4/26. Front Range is off 3/18 - 3/22.

So you'll be hitting CA spring break and CO high country middle break so it'll probs be pretty busy with all of the locals + CA crowd. TX spring break is the absolute worst, but I wouldn't expect it to be a low volume week. It's probs the 2nd/3rd busiest week of the year.

My family just finished our ski trip in Crested Butte. We definitely had a great time, but could see where some trails needed more snow. Hopefully it won't be any issue after next week!

Open Snow.

Phenomenal day today in the back bowls at Vail. The system has been a season savior. Can't speak to Sumco. Hitting Telly this weekend.
