Yes that is my understanding. Someone posted that iah doesn't allow guests but I agree. That is what the rules say.

I think there were some posts that referenced Centurion Lounges not allowing guests

I fly pretty much exclusively weekdays, the two I usually hit are the e terminal and the c terminal on the old side. Just due to the gates I'm flying out of. They are pretty much always completely full. That's why you see the "no one time passes" signage out front. Maybe disgusting is a bit harsh, but I compare it to their offering at the other hubs (ord,Newark, lax) where the food selection is 1000x better. Stale sandwiches and soup seem to be the common offering in Houston. Pre COVID was much better.

The last couple of times I have been through, the main food available at C was chicken fajitas with all the fixing, chips, etc. The tortillas were not handmade in house like you would get at a local tex mex restaurant and I suspect the fajita chicken was out of a Tyson freezer bag, but it was reasonable grab food to catch a meal between flights and the price was right.

Is the club near c1 better than the one near c30?

First use was great. The club drinks and food were great. We even stopped on the way back to relax before facing traffic. Allowing two guests is a great deal too. I did hear a club worker say that next year they are taking off between Christmas and new year.

C1 club is a cluster both times I've been in the last couple months. It's not bad but just busy. Haven't done c30 so can't be helpful there.
