I'm 6'3". I stand up as soon as I can, especially if it's a regional jet.

Exactly.

Nothing wrong with aisle seat standing in aisle waiting their turn to get off the plane. It speeds things up over the " I'm going to sit here and do nothing until row in front of me clears out to start getting my bags ready"

Have more than one damn exit for getting off the plane. I'd rather fly on a C-130 for most regional flights bc when that ***** opens the rear hatch, you're out in no time.

This made me chuckle. My son flies C130's & also flies for SWA. Yep that back hatch will unload everybody at once!

Been on a few flights in Europe where they have deplaned from both front and rear.

Southwest boards from both front and rear stairs in Burbank.

I'm 6'4 with zero lymph nodes in one of my legs. Causes severe swelling when seated for a long time and made even worse with the altitude pressure. If I can remain seated in my seat for an extra ten minutes so can everyone else.

ETA. I don't mind the people standing but if you're in the back of the plane no need digging through the bins pulling out bags etc. it's dangerous with bags falling on top of people etc.

Last couple of flights I've been on (excluding Southwest), gate lice were so bad that they actually formed some semblance of a line. When I realized I was able to board before them, I (and others in my boarding group) had to "cut" in front of them to actually get in the boarding line.

People who stand up when the plane lands are ok with me because they deter people from rushing up from the back, trying to cut everyone else (who also want to deplane) off.

I try to reserve my disdain for the ones who stand up and then move forward several rows from where they were sitting. I've actually made eye contact and told someone "The rest of us want to get off the plane, too".

I used to hang out to try and be the first for my section when I traveled with a family member who is disabled so we had a better chance of getting an overhead spot. We never felt comfortable doing pre boarding since she is high functioning but ever since we were almost forced to check her bag we have just said f-it pre board just so we don't get separated from her medication.

It really sucks now bc now we mostly fly swa and have to deal with everyone thinking we are faking. If they simply guaranteed overhead space for your seat that would solve a lot of the issues.

I always get an aisle seat.

After they open the door, I stand up, grab my bag and wait there until the row in front of me is clear.

In the meantime, I get bags down for other people who ask me to help them.

Frankly, it's the people who do no preparation for disembarking until it's their row's turn who make the whole process more difficult for everyone.

Seriously, check your luggage. It's not that big a deal. Plus, on Southwest, you get two free per person anyway.

I have a buddy that is a travel snob who thinks people that check their bags are the lowest form of life. I love checking my bag and not having to worry about carrying bags around.

I stand up after landing but I don't get in the aisle or anything. I just need to stretch my legs and back.

That's a weird flex

If I'm on a non stop and on Delta where I don't pay for it I'm checking 10/10 times. Especially if I'm already checking something like my golf clubs or skis.

He's probably referring to people who don't know how to pack efficiently.

If I'm connecting to somewhere then I'm probably having second thoughts on checking.

If I'm going for 3-5 days, then I should be able to pack efficiently enough to fit everything in a small carryon.

If I'm going 2 weeks to a cooler climate, like Ireland or in 2 months to Nepal, I'm checking.

My suitcase I use all the time is carry-on size I just check it anyway in circumstances noted above.

I refuse to check a bag if I'm just going for a few day work trip. Not many things more infuriating than sitting around an extra 30 minutes just to wait for a bag. It's really quite liberating to be able to walk right off the plane hop in a rental car and get going or straight to the truck after getting home.

Not that I care, but I would get made fun of mercilessly if traveling on business with coworkers on a 2-3 day trip where I held up the whole group because "uhh... hey y'all, I gotta stop at baggage claim." Agree with the above... walk off the plane with your **** and go.
