I've got an 8:30am flight tomorrow morning back to Texas and am wondering what time we should leave our hotel in Times Square to get to JFK. At first I was thinking 6am to get there at 7am which should be plenty of time with no checked bags, but now I'm having second thoughts. We'd be taking an Uber fwiw.

I've flown out of JFK a few times but never starting from Manhattan.

I recommend the patented HollywoodBQ rule of beginning movement to the airport 3 hours before your flight departure time - assuming a 1 hour commute.

If you wind up with an extra hour at the airport, no problem. If you're late... no good.

I'd order the Uber for 0545 which gives you 15 minutes to get downstairs and check out of the hotel.

You dont recommend the Long Island rail method to and from JFK?
