Wife loves cruises. I tolerate them. RC for sure. Carnival clientele is, as many have noted here, a clown show.

I haven't been on Royal, we have primarily been on Carnival, with one each on Princess and NCL.

In my opinion NCL had the best production shows, mainly because they are actual Broadway shows and not random one offs just for the cruise line. Carnival by far had the best comedians/comedy shows.

Princess had higher end food options, for example smoked salmon on the buffet for breakfast (Carnival only has it in the dining room). But I think the dining room food on Carnival was superior to NCL. Also the huevos rancheros from Blue Iguana at breakfast are delicious.

On NCL basically everyone has the drink package and they don't have a drink limit (at least when we went), but the included brand tiers/cocktail options are lower than Carnival. Carnival has a 15 drink per day limit which has never been an issue.

I've never really been bothered by the clientele, good people watching. We mostly do 7 day off season though. I think there is enough variety and spaces onboard to make it whatever kind of vacation you want it to be.

Did a RC out of Galveston I think it was 5 or 6 nights, didn't notice much white trash.
Internet package was expensive AF
spent 500 for the fam
Food was fine
9 out of 10 , would do again.

Take Harmony of Seas with RC in August and it goes to their private island coco cay.

I'm on MSC Seascape out of Galveston right now. Will give review compared to carnival and RC when I get back.

Shoutout to Jmac, just got off a 4 day carnival cruise out of Galveston- took my fam and the office staff. Everyone took a mix of spouses /kids - I paid for the staff but they paid for their own additions so we had a complicated order of people wanting differing types of rooms, packages , and some of them wanted to pay for their spouse directly while others wanted me to cover and to pay me back later. Jmac made it all super easy on me and we had a great time !
