Have trip planned at the end of next week. Any must see and do excursions? Staying at the Conrad. Any restaurant recommendations off the resort property?

La Pescadora is right on the edge of the water and has great seafood.

Marieta Islands tour is cool.

This place is amazing if you are considering other options in the area. Beach is great, food and service is incredible.

thanks. My wife doesn't drink so we're trying to avoid the All Inclusive spots.

Looks nice though!

Been 3 times now over the last couple of years, but we have always stayed inside the gates. The St Regis and 4 Seasons are very pricy but there are so many VRBO's to chose from the surrounding condos/homes.

Just make sure you get a golf cart and have access to the beach clubs. Our new favorite beach spot.....great for kids or adults only.

Thanks for the feedback.

I haven't stayed outside of PV before in this area.

How do you know if you're "inside the gates"?

Basically the entire tip you can see in the map pic minus the Coral del Risco section.....the key words to pay attention to on listings are access to Pacifico Beach Club, Kapuri Beach Club, Sufi Beach Club, etc.

got it. I did a little research and figured out what the area was.

Those condos are pricey though! I think I might stick to my peon spot in Punta de Mita

Maybe next year.

I personally didn't like Punta Mita very much compared to Puerto Vallarta. There just wasn't much to do, so we rented a car from the hotel and went to Sayulita and San Poncho. We enjoyed those a lot more with San Pancho being our favorite.

yeah, I like the location of the Conrad as it's only about 20 minutes from Sayulita, which is a spot my friend has been pumping for years.

It's a 4 day trip, so I don't mind paying a bit more for the stay. We like to take day trips so seems like there's some good options within a short drive.

Any good tips about San Pancho?

We stay at Marival Armony all-inclusive... https://www.marivalarmony.com/punta-de-mita-gallery

It's 20 minutes east of Punta Mita and near La Cruz and Bucerias. Really isolated if you like that. My wife and I don't mind the drive (30-40 minutes) to PV a couple times per trip. We are headed there at the beginning of March.

that place looks amazing. If we were into AI, I would be all over it.

I haven't been to the PV area in years, so excited to get back there.

We went to PV on our honeymoom 30+ years ago and didn't go back until 2023. We've been 5 times since and are taking friends in March.

We ended up buying a timeshare, and I have mixed emotions about AI. On most trips to Cancun or Playa del Carmen we just veg out at the all-inclusive resort. We did that a couple times in PV, but then we started seeing how much there is to do there and we venture out a lot - so the AI is kinda getting wasted.

But, instead of crying over spilled milk we make the best of it and do both - stay at resort and venture out.

There are so many cool boutique hotels and VRBOs in PV in the Romantic Zone and other areas of the city..

this is what we like to do.

We did Cabo the same week last year and one of my favorite parts was taking road trips to Todos Santos and boat excursions.

If you are near Nuevo Vallarta I can't bang the drum hard enough about a little hole in the wall called Restaurante Titis.

We met a local and he took us there one afternoon (they close at 7:30 p.m.). We had stingray tacos, diablo shrimp, la cucaracha shrimp, grilled octopus and the best red snapper. They have Coronitas and Pacifico pony beer that they ice down and put in a washtub by your table.

It's on a small, dusty street and there's horses and chickens running around. It's open air and our favorite place to eat.

They have 2,700 Google reviews and this one I saw perfectly tells about the place:

This place is in a neighborhood quite hidden. Don't let the drive into the neighborhood throw you off. You are in Mexico. The place is kind of a large hole in the wall place.

Everything was delicious and fresh, and the staff was helpful and friendly. This is real Mexican seafood!!
We took a taxi and Ubered back to the Hotel.
