I feel like I'm spamming the board with these questions, but I'm in the middle of recruiting season for international schools and exploring several options.

Has anyone spend significant time in Sofia, Bulgaria? I have an interview lined up with a school there and it seems like an interesting opportunity. I've haven't spent much time in Eastern Europe...only a few weeks in Prague, Budapest, and some small towns in Poland.

Never been there but most importantly for a teacher is figuring your cost of living

I am not concerned about that. The school's package is very good and includes housing. I've already done some research on day to day costs and that shouldn't be an issue in the decision. I am interested in learning more about the city/country and it would be a good fit for 2 or 3 years.

If you move forward in the process, I can get you direct answers from a co-worker who is from Bulgaria.

Funny enough, it's on my list to ski in Bulgaria this winter…overall, Bulgaria is cheap cheap cheap!

The best hamburger I have had in my life was at Skapto in Sofia.

Sofia has the cheapest cost of living of any capital city in Europe. Bulgaria in general is very very cheap.
