Just read an article about AA having to halt all flights temporarily yesterday got me thinking how airline travel has been this week if it's pretty FUBAR or ok. I want to say in my experience, this year has been smoother than the previous two years rebounding from Covid. How's this week treating air travelers.

No issues yesterday flying International into Houston and then to ASE.

I will say Global Entry was crucial (at least use Mobile passport control). The GE line was 30 seconds. The regular line was at least 90+ minutes. ALOT of people missing flights because they didn't factor in customs.

Flew SWA on Sunday morning to San Antonio for Christmas with in-laws and then back again Sunday night. No issues

When did you put in your app? Mine took like 2-3 months for conditional approval. Then I did the interview when I went through Customs the next time.

It's extremely helpful at DIA, IAH, LAX, and MIA.

Is that for if you don't have GE ?

We applied in early October. Wife got her conditional approval within 24 hours and we did the interview at IAH back before Thanksgiving. My kid got her conditional approval right away also.

Yup. It'll save your life. Download the app, and when you land, upload your info into MPC. and you'll skip a FAT part of the line. MPC has its own lane. Not sure why more people don't use it. I assume because they don't know about it.

"After downloading the MPC Application from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, eligible travelers will be prompted to create a profile with their passport or LPR card information. Upon arrival at eligible Preclearance locations users must select their mode of entry in the application as "Preclearance" before selecting their departing Preclearance Port of Entry. If a traveler is not using preclearance, upon landing in the United States, travelers will select "U.S. airport" as their mode of entry and then select their arrival airport or seaport and terminal. Travelers will then take a self-photo and answer a series of CBP inspection-related questions. Once the traveler submits their transaction through the app, travelers will then bring their physical passport to a CBP officer to finalize their inspection for entry into the United States."

Mine took about 60 days for approval. My guess is yours will clear sometime right after NY.

Zero issues for me this week. Flew out of HOU to DEN on 12/22 and smooth sailing! DEN was busy a little more than usual. I'm a bit of a nerd and time myself to see how quickly I can get to my rental car. With a family of 4 and 2 kids in tow we were picking up our car 30 min after landing. It is even possible to carry on for a ski trip. Hoping all have a Great Christmas

We landed at IAH on 12/23 at 3:06 and were through GE by 3:15. We had our bags by 3:20 and were in the rent car at 3:35. Not sure ive ever cleared customs gotten my bags and left the rental car lot flying International through IAH in less than 30 minutes from touch down. Not pulling into the gate but actual touch down. It was amazing.
