Howdy,

I'm planning my honeymoon trip to St. Thomas soon and would love some advice from those who've been!

- What are the must-see attractions and hidden gems?
- Any recommendations for great beaches, snorkeling spots, or local restaurants?
- Any cultural experiences or local events I shouldn't miss?
- Are there any unique local restaurants or food experiences I shouldn't miss?
- Any recommendations for day trips or nearby islands worth visiting?
- Any specific places for sunset views or photo-worthy spots?

I'm open to any tips that will help me make the most of my trip. Thanks in advance for sharing your insights!

Find Captain Patrick and have him take you out to Virgin Gorda on a day trip.

Also spend a day in St John.

Was just there on a cruise and have been a couple of times. Maegans Bay was really nice to hang out at. Water was warm even in Dec and sand was nice and soft.

We have also gone with FastCat to a couple snorkel places and a beach (forget what beach) and it was a fun tour.

We had some good fish tacos at Side Street Pub in the downtown area.

Rent a villa and a Jeep and explore the amazing beaches of St. John. The Soggy Dollar (BVI) is awesome. A day charter is a better way to get there, but there is also have a ferry that goes from STJ to Joist Van Dyke. The Baths (also BVI) are cool, but it's a bit of a haul to get there by boat.

I know this probably isnt what you want to hear, but St Thomas is probably the worst island to spend time in of all the Virgin Islands. The beaches arent that great there compared to St Johns and BVI, its a little crowded, and not much to do there. The only good thing about it there is that its a nice central base to explore the other islands by ferry or charter a boat.

IMO, your best bet is to spend one day in St Thomas visiting Magens Bay and hopping around in Red Hook area, then spend the rest of the trip beach/island hopping on other islands: St Johns, Virgen Gorda, Jost Van Dyke, Tortola etc. The best beaches are in White Bay (JVD), Trunk Bay (St Johns), and The Baths (Virgen Gorda). They have that crystal clear turquoise water and white sand beaches that you envision when visiting the virgin islands, and St Thomas just doesn't have those types of beaches.

We always hit Skinny Legs in Corral Bay for burgers (usually twice). We always do a reservation at Morgan Mango's for lobster night. Drinks and snacks at Woody's, and The Beach Bar. This past summer we tried Johnny Limes in Corral Bay. It's bbq, but they have a fancy myron mixon smoker and do smoked lobster one night a week. You have to call and reserve your lobster but it was fantastic.

There are a lot of restaurants that hit alot of different cuisines. We do a lot of splitting dishes or apps with drinks in order to hit alot of restaurants.

Woody's is a popular spot. I know this isnt in St John, but Sidney's in Jost Van Dyke is a must visit. They have some of the biggest and best lobster Ive ever seen, and you can go behind the bar and make your own drinks.

Good recommendations from FM 949. I'd also add Extra Virgin Bistro and Lime Out. Lime Out is in Coral Bay and is only accessible by boat. You can add it to a charter or reserve a time/spot on Salt + Lime Express to ferry you over. Lime Out is basically a floating taco truck with really good tacos and craft cocktails.

One thing to keep in mind when reserving lodging on St John is that it is a 30 minute or so drive that is curvy and hilly between Coral Bay and Cruiz Bay and most of the restaurants are in Cruiz Bay.

Glad to hear Morgan's Mango is still open on St. John. We honeymooned on St John in 2001 so its been a bit but I believe our first night's dinner was at Morgan's Mango and it was great. We stayed at Estate Lindholm and it was awesome. We spent the last day or two on St Thomas and it was cool but totally different vibe from St John. Not in a bad way but in a hustle & bustle way. We were often the only people on the beach on St John. But beaches on St Thomas had bars etc which was cool too.
