I am going to octoberfest for a bachelor party first week of October. Many of us have been to Munich/octoberfest several times so we are only going to spend about four days there. We also decided to do a Baltic tour after since we have never been starting in Lithuania up to Estonia. We have a professional tour but have about three days between ending octoberfest and needing to be in Lithuania and we all realized we had never been to Poland. Has anyone spent time there and had any suggestions?

Our plan was to just do one city, either krakow or Warsaw because both options have easy cheap flights to Vilnius when we need to be there. Has anyone been to both and have any preferences?

Krakow is a neat town. Cool plazas, good beer and historical (Lots of Holocaust history). It is where the Oscar Schindler's Factory was (from Schindler's List).

I'm not sure what kind of "Batchelor Party" you're looking for... Didn't see any strip joints or donkey shows.

That's a badass bachelor party. Oktoberfest with the boys is the dream.

Krakow is amazing! The old Jewish Quarter is a great place to stay, with its charming streets, rich history, and vibrant atmosphere. Some of the local restaurants serve absolutely incredible food, from traditional Polish dishes to modern fusion cuisine. Check tripadvisor for some great advices.

Agreed on Krakow. Never been to Warsaw, but Krakow is a great city. Good food, good beer, some really cool bars. Super cheap also. At least it was when I went 10 years ago.

Can't say enough good things about Krakow as a husband wife trip we took. Not sure about a bachelor party scene. But Krakow is stellar.

If you are more interested in nightlife/partying, then go with Warsaw. If however you are interested in historical places (daytime stuff), then definitely go with Krakow. It is the only city in Poland that was not devastated during the last Great Unpleasantness, so has some really interesting sights. Also much closer to Oswiecim/Auschwitz-Birkenau, which is a place you might consider seeing since you are in the area.

The definition of "buzz-kill". But in all seriousness, places not to miss if you ever get the chance.

As others have said, Krackow was not bombed during WWII, so is older and historic. Warsaw is very modern and probably more nightlife, but also a lot of history. My son and I were in Warsaw this past summer and really enjoyed it. I had been in Krackow 35 years ago, and was very impressed with its beauty.
