Let's just say that you need to allow 5 mins for unsnapping brand new leather lederhosen if you think you need to go... never p'd my pants...but man, that lager runs through it.

End of the night... we were swaying on benches singing german songs...

My brother and I are planning to go next year. It'll be the first time for both of us and we're super excited! We'd appreciate any tips!

I read through the old Texags Oktoberfest thread and learned a lot, but much of that thread is prior to covid and could be outdated. Die Wiesn (aka The Oktoberfest) | TexAgs

Well - in 2022 Wurstfest had 220,000 visitors. In 2023, the Oktoberfest had 7.2 million visitors. So there's that.

I went to the Oktoberfest for the first time in 1980, and most recently in 2003, so it's been a while now, but always a blast.

I get that, but is it at a fairgrounds type of place or is it just the entire city having one big party?

It's a huge, permanent 100 acre fairground called the Theresienwiese.
