Not opposed to flying and leaving Thursday late if needed.

She does like to gamble, and if I can't find anything, we would probably just head to Lake Charles.

Cancun area is always an easy flight.

While the town doesn't have much to offer, Winstar casino is massive just over the OK border.

San Antonio Marriott Hill Country, Hyatt Regency Lost Pines.

Scottsdale. Easy to get to, likely great weather, casinos, spas, great restaurants and nightlife. Old Town is a great place to walk around, people watch and shop, window shop or whatever.

Where would you recommend staying?

Recently I stayed at the Talking Stick casino and it was very nice.
I have also stayed at the Omni and it was very nice as well.

Is it worth getting a house for 3 nights?

Depends what you like to do. If you want to do the resort thing, no. Stay at a resort.
If you want to go on hikes, go out on the town and golf, yeah, maybe get a house.

As I said, it really depends on how you (your wife) like to vacation. My wife likes the resorts, so that is what we do. There are very nice resorts in the area with highly regarded spas. Scottsdale is golf, spas and dining, with some good hiking thrown in. If you golf, book her a nice spa appointment and you go golf, then take her to a nice restaurant.

Sounds good. Will hopefully have some other friends with us. That was the main reason for the house.

Turo has some badass cars available there, if you have to rent a car. There are tons of houses to rent and even more condos.

If I get other folks going, I would plan a day for the guys to golf and ladies spa.

Go to Old Town Scottsdale at dark and your nighttime plans are made for you. It's also fun during the day. If anyone in the group likes hiking Camelback is close and the views are insane. Talking Stick is the nearest casino and nice. Women seem to love walking the shops in OTS during the day. Alma on Scottsdale Road is good Mexican. Andreoli Italian Grocer on 90th and Via Linda is a great lunch spot.

If the golfers are good try Grayhawk, We Ko Pa or that level of course. If they're not really good Talking Stick has 2 courses that do have mountain views but are more forgiving. Courses are being overseeded right now and open either late October or early November. Check to make sure wherever you book isn't still cart path only if they've just opened. November should be good.

Waymo runs the driverless cars in Scottsdale, Chandler and Mesa. Weekend before last we had a lot of rain and the Waymos kept driving into high water. I guess they hadn't factored that into the software.

And they are trying to move into Houston! Better get some hovercrafts. Actually on second thought, floodwaters might wash out the stink of the people that will use them here, so maybe part of the Google master plan.

If you do choose Scottsdale consider happy hour on one of the roof tops with great views.
