Business and even personal wise, I never book refundable flights.... so is this only for fully refundable tickets?

I don't either and no. It's for any ticket that the price drops after you buy it (except for the most basic economy option).

I'm not a lawyer, so maybe I interpret things incorrectly, but your TOS contain the usual language regarding user data, which makes it appear on the surface that you could be selling user data:

Accordingly, you grant Sky Key Technologies an irrevocable, royalty-free, freely transferable, sublicensable, worldwide right and license to use, host, store, cache, reproduce, publish, display, distribute, transmit, modify, adapt, create derivative works of, and otherwise exploit such End-User Data solely in connection with providing the Services.

I'm sure the key words in there are "solely in connection with providing services," but I'm sure a good lawyer could argue a pretty broad definition of "providing services."

Anyway, going down a rabbit hole we probably don't need to. Glad you guys are not selling data, and happy to be wrong on this one. I'll be signing up next time we book some flights.

We looked at charging a monthly/annual subscription, but we don't want people paying us if we aren't saving them money (it's possible your flight price doesn't go down/we don't save you money on a flight until months after you upload it). This is really cool. I have a question! I'm a small business owner and I have 10 employees who I book flights for, usually 70ish flights a year each. Would I be able to utilize your service for that, or is it only for personal use?

Does this work if booking through a 3rd party travel portal (such as Chase Ultimate rewards travel portal)? We had a hell of a time getting them to refund tickets that were refundable before.

Very interesting, does this work for award tickets booked with miles and/or certificates? This could be huge for when I book flights for my family of 5. Also, looks like only compatible w/ yahoo and gmail accounts, not iCloud or others?

Can't speak to email part, but works with miles and miles/cash combo.

We support email sync right now for Gmail/Yahoo. Even if you don't have those, you can upload your ticket by entering in your confirmation number.

most of my personal flights are to races!

though Billy here is a badass and runs a 2:34 marathon! Even back when I was "fast," he'd already have finished and be well on his way to a shower before I crossed the line. Now he'd probably shower and eat lunch before I finished.

It does the same thing for the airlines I fly, plus consolidates all my travel plans… for $49/year.

Good question. We have a lot of customers that use both since TripIt has been around for several decades.

Sky Key automatically saves you money when your flight prices drop. TripIt has lower price alerts but they aren't super accurate / won't automatically get your savings.

That's correct. TripIt is a subscription service whereas Sky Key is only pay if we save you money.

So if I save in miles then I pay you in miles?

We convert the miles to dollars. For example, if we save you 10,000 miles -> we convert to $100 -> we charge your credit card for 25% ($25).

The ratio we use is 100 miles = $1. The miles are likely worth 20-30% more, but we like to be conservative since it's not well defined.

That's awesome. Really good it's USATF certified too. Will have to check it out if I run another marathon soon!
