On the explorer, you get 1 PQP per $20 spent. So to earn the 3184 PQPs you need, you would have to spend $63,680 by midnight Dec 31st.

I think with the Explorer card you can only earn 1,000 PQP through card spend anyway. With the Club card, it is 1 per $15 and you can earn up to 28,000 PQP. They also give you 1,500 PQP for free each year.

Never knew explorer was 1/$20, but confirmed club card is 1/$15.

What's the saying? Airlines are now just credit card companies who happen to also fly.

The last time I did one, it literally was a flight from IAH to DFW, sat around for an hour, then DFW to IAH.

A few years ago i did BIL-DEN-COS-DEN-BIL.

I walked off the plane in COS, sat down for 15 minutes or whatever, then they started the boarding process and I was back on the plane well within an hour...same seat. Flight attendant gave me an awkward look and I explained what I was doing. She commented that it wasn't uncommon at the end of the year.
