Wife and I are heading to Rosewood Little Dix for a work trip Wed-Sunday in late April. We are think of coming down the Sunday before and staying in Tortola 3 nights. Looking for recs on where to stay and fun things to do. Tentative plan would be ferry to St. John on day 1 for diving/snorkeling. Day 2 Sandy Spit/Soggy Dollar boat trip or possibly hiking and zip lining. Day 3 we have to take the ferry in the afternoon to Gordo so maybe just walking around or another morning dive

For your day trip to St John, a private charter would be a much better option. I think for the ferry, you will have to go through St Thomas which will eat up a lot of time. The other issue is getting around St John once you are there. A private charter will be able to get you to the best beaches and snorkeling/dive areas. Also, keep in mind that you will have to clear customs and that will probably be quicker in St John.

Soggy Dollar is a must do. I prefer Sandy Cay to Sandy Spit but both are great. The Indians, The Caves and the Willy T are also really cool but they are much closer to St John than Jost Van Dyke so they don't really work great with your BVI excursion.

For lodging, we usually just rent a villa with a pool whether in St. John or BVI.

As a general comment, I think St John has better beaches and BVI has better snorkeling. Also, be sure to check out The Baths will on Virgin Gorda.

I did not even think about customs when I was considering excursion options. We may just do both days on Tortola with that in mind.

This is an award trip so not just a company meeting although that was in Miami last week so we were able to go down to the Keys for the weekend after

So….what is it that you do, which takes you to Little Dix for work? The level of luxury for my "work trips" is a function of which resort/hotel in Houston my company chooses for our annual conference each year.

We charter a catamaran in the BVI every few years and have made it a staple to stay at Scrub Island at the halfway point. Great resort, pool and food. Plus you could easily access all of the destinations spots within the BVI (Soggy, Baths, North Sound, even a day trip to Anegada which I highly recommend) via water taxi.

My wife and friends we have traveled all over with did 5 nights on a 40' cat this past December out of Tortola. We did Norman Island, Saba Rock, Anagada and Jos Van Dyke and had a great time. If you go to Anagada arrange rental of a mini-moke and explore the island. Our captain secured us some fresh lobster and we steamed it on the boat.

Medical Device rep. I've been very fortunate to have 4 consecutive years in the top 7% which gets you the "President's Club" award. We did the Ritz in Turks, Chileno Bay Cabo, & One and Only Palmilla Cabo the 3 previous years.

I looked into Guana Island for some clients a while back. They ended up doing the USVI instead but it's an awesome property. 850 acres, 7 beaches and miles of hiking trails. Feels like a private club

Fly into Tortola, 5 min drive to the Marina, 15 min boat ride (all included in the rate).

It's all inclusive and the food is incredible. They can arrange excursions around the area including the Baths at Virgin Gorda.

Happy to answer questions if you have them!

We used Island Time BVI for our private charter and they were great to work with. The captain was excellent as well. It was the best day of our trip! Soggy Dollar and Foxy's were both great.
