Just got back from a Tequila trip with bookend nights in Guadalajara. So, I'm here to eat crow on Mexico. It was pretty awesome. If you like Tequila then you have to do this trip. We took the Tequila Express train from GDL out to Tequila and stayed a night in Tequila. Train is awesome. Toured Fortaleza and La Cofrida (where we also stayed). La Cofrida makes tequila for many other labels - the two most notable that I saw were Clase Azul and Casa Noble.

Excellent food; nice people. There was heavy NG presence at GDL airport with M60s and a security guy open carrying an AR in the entertainment district in GDL but other than that it was fine.

Most all my trips have been work related, so nice to be in Santa Rosa Beach this week ( 30a). First time we've done a beach front house and it's worth it. Besides the freezing temperatures today

What was your opinion of ST?

We went 2 years ago and took in an Astros game, a Braves game, and an Orioles game. Orioles park was by far our favorite and Sarasota was a cool town. Our favorite game was the Astros - I'm a lifelong Astros fan and the game we chose featured most of the expected starters. I bought seats right behind home plate, second row, and whomever was on the first row no-showed. It was perfect. I think I paid $50ish each and saw 2-3 ABs from each of the stars.

We did ST in AZ in 2018 and it was overall a night-and-day better experience. It was awesome being able to visit 5 different complexes over the week while staying at the same resort. We were able to wander each complex in the mornings and watch big league stars taking fielding practice and do pitching routines, my boys were able to interact with players (mostly minor leaguers hoping to make it), etc. I don't know if AZ is still that way or if both FL and AZ are more locked-down now post-COVID or for some other security concerns, but AZ was a great trip that I hope to repeat often in coming years.

Heading to GA next week. It's our eldest son's final spring parents weekend at UGA (he graduates in May) and my wife typically goes.

We're playing 2 rounds of golf (1 on the beautiful UGA campus course), going to a UGA vs SC baseball game, eating at Chuck's (great seafood), and going to some outdoor concert in downtown Athens where I'm sure I'll spend Saturday night trying to be in my mid-20s again and realizing Sunday that indeed I am not in my mid-20s (or -30s, or even -40s).
