Kinda lurking on here to follow suggestions as this will be our first trip to that area 1st week of May… doing cannon beach > waterfalls (staying on a farm in Mosier > then loop to the south of mt hood in cabin in mount hood village… busy week but really looking forward to seeing new area!!
So through the Gorge it is. Thunder Island. Priefm and Ferment on the waterfront. You're breweries.
Mosier Twin Tunnels on bikes. If you like more bike stuff, hit me up. Big gravel and MTB guy. Tons to do on East Hood / Post Canyon.
You're driving the fruit loop to Hood Village. Great! Gorge White House is the must. Then Draper Girls, Packer Orchards, and Grateful Vineyard (pizza, wine and Hood views).
Lost Lake is SE Hood is the best alpine lake. Look it up and do it.
White River Sno Park for a photo right after the Meadow's ski resort (best hill ever, so great).
Timberline on your way through Govy. Still skiing until mid-July this year. Hike to Silcox. A bit higher and you start to smell the Devil's Kitchen fumarole. Summit and you can get a headache staring down into it. Bruno is the very good pup on the first floor. 2nd floor had the main cathedral area. They lop a Doug for Christmas that reaches the ceiling in there. GOAT Christmas vibes with the massive fireplaces. We chop our own Christmas tree every year and then eat dinner at the Rams Head.
Charlie's is my daughter and my fav restaurant on Earth. We eat it almost every Friday in ski season. Wife hates it. Apart of the appeal, tbh. Ratskeller across the street for pizza and pinball. Glacier Pub if it's open. That's about it for Govy.
Once you're down in Hood Village, head out Lolo Pass road. Tons of PCT and McNeil Pt hiking. Spectacular views.
