Any recs? Looks like many of the hotels have a seawall or marina view. Looking for a ocean/beachfront property anywhere along the keys.

They don't have the typical huge beach front areas like others do but the below some recommendations:

- Casa Marina Key West
- Little Palm Island Resort
- Bakers Caye Resort Key Largo
- Three Waters

Happy to answer questions or help if you're looking for it.

My wife is in the industry so we didn't pay for it, but Little Palm Island is one of the resorts we've ever stayed. If you've got the means, it's very nice.

I had heard ScarJo checked out a day or two before us.

My mother's family is from the keys and they all have waterfront homes there. Basically spent my summers growing up in the keys and for the life of me I can't understand why people visit there looking for a beach.

Pier House has a small, but nice beach area and a good location at the end of Duval Street. I think the Hyatt Centric next door also has a small beach area.

Agreed. I love the keys. And my wife wants to retire there, much to my chagrin. I'd prefer the Panhandle. But she wants a dock that Manatee's swim up to in retirement. And we dive. And I want to get a little Hobie Cat to run around in. A little speck of sand will suffice for me, day in and day out.

The best beaches are in the Panhandle.

Isla Bella Beach Resort in Marathon is a great place. Took the family there last May and everyone loved it. Great location right in the middle of the Keys.

Many thanks to all! Enjoy the gulf side of Florida also (Marco Island) but would like to see Hemingways place and just sit in solitude for a little while. Looking at The Reach and Casa Marina. An oceanfront AirBnb would be ok too.

My family has had a yearly Keys trip since before I was born. For the vast majority of years, we have stayed at the Futura Yacht club. It is a condo, rather than a hotel, but it does have a seawall on the other side of the Marina and a very small little beach.

I remember the first time I took my now wife on our annual Keys family trip and she was SUPER sad that there were no beaches.

We stayed at Bakers Cay 2-3 summers ago. It was nice. If you go to Key Largo, we really enjoyed the food at Hobo's.

Best place to stay if driving through the panhandle? Destin? Biloxi? 4 of us. I'd like to gamble but my kids are probably not old enough to take into a casino yet.
I hope I did not offend anybody with this post. If I did, please come see me at my address in my profile so we can talk.

When first reading I thought the panhandle of Texas - what a stark contrast for retirement locations.
