A steakhouse is one of the most boring types of restaurant you can go to in NYC. It isn't going to be as good as a top steakhouse in Texas.

To make it somewhat interesting, you should go to somewhere unique to there.

Peter Luger in Brooklyn is the most well known and historic. The food is not great, but it is an experience.

Keen's for the mutton chop was a good suggestion.

4 Charles is probably the most trendy steak place in town.

Any recommendations for something memorable? It will also be her 18th birthday

Depends a lot on your price range. What are you willing to pay for two people? And do you drink?

At that price, maybe Balthazar or Minetta Tavern or Momo***u Noodle Bar.

Cote is a nice experience

Strip House in Greenwich Village

If you're open to non steak house places, My wife and I were just there and I really enjoyed La Grande Boucherie. French restaurant with a very cool looking entrance and bar area. Food and cocktails were excellent. Walking distance to rockefeller, times square, broadway.

Quality Meats is close to Central Park and is very good.

We had dinner there last night. Having dinner at Monkey Bar in about 45 minutes.

So far, so good. Nas is at the table next to ours.
