Hitting Nashville with family for 2 nights in July. 4 of us including 11 and 13 year old boys. What is the best areas to stay in that are near major sights? Thinking VRBO type place, but hotel is not out of the question.

Our first part of road trip has us staying in rural located houses, so probably would like a nice scenic rural view here also, although it might be a good change to see more of a city scape view for the last 2 nights?

Not sure what we are doing yet, but thinking it would include the Opry and Country Music HOF. Any other major sights we shouldn't miss? Places to eat?

Thanks!!

My two favorite places for apartments are the Gulch (we've had some great rooftop views of DT), and the area around Belmont University (a bit out of the city but the 12 Ave S is a nice little area for shopping and restaurants)

I along with other people gave advice about hotels and other Nashville things in this thread:

Gaylord Opryland is insane. It's huge and an experience in itself. Very easy walk to the Opry, though.

Check out the Marathon Motor Works. It's the old Marathon car manufacturing facility. It's been retrofit with shops and has a lot of the old equipment to check out. Pretty close to downtown/Broadway and very family friendly. My kids loved it.
