I was wondering if there are any A&M clubs that get together up here for happy hours or anything. I'm in Federal Way for the summer doing an internship.

They might...

I moved back here several years ago and I have yet to do anything with the WWAMC... Guess that makes me a bad Ag...

Who's your internship with? ESM? Parametrix?

I'm up here for an internship as well again. My second time up here after having spent 7 months last year here. It really is nice up here over the summers.

It hasn't been bad so far except for having to go buy a jacket and sleeping on a couch. We went downtown on Monday and then to the Mariners game, which was fun. There isn't much to do in Federal Way though. ktown, are you in Seattle or outside?

I live up in the Everett/Mukilteo area. Probably not hard to guess who I'm working for. I head down to the city on weekends sometimes (mainly U-district) for bars and the like, but I go hiking up in the Cascades quite often too. There are a good number of Ags interning up here with me. I know of at least 3 others and some other full time employees that are recent graduates.

We should meet grab some beers and watch the Ags if they make it to Omaha. I'm hoping to get home in time today to watch the softball team. Are you in engineering too?

If you are in aero, i'm going to guess boeing. Do you happen to be a golfer? I brought my clubs with me but nobody in my office golfs.

Definitely get up in the mountains and tour some breweries. Go up to Vancouver, B.C. for a weekend, July 4th at Gas Works park is always fun, and just do something different every weekend. As for a bar, if my memory serves me right the Pyramid brewery is damn close to the stadium. Go have some beers there then go to the game.

The Pyramid Brew House is next to "The Safe."

Tiki Bobs and Sluggers are near QWEST. I think Tiki Bobs is the one the Seagals hang out at (the bar directly across from the QWEST parking lot) after the games.

There are about a bezillion bars and clubs in Pioneer Square. Paying cover at one gets you into the others as well.

You should check the Sounder schedule to see if there are trains running on the day of your game. From Federal Way, cross I-5 on HWY 18 to Auburn and take the train from there - it's fun and it will save you the hassle and expense of parking downtown. The train gets out at the stadium. I do it for the Seahawks games...

As far as "don't miss" items, I'd say it depends on your schedule and interests. Here are some ideas:

-The Space Needle / The Music Experience
-Harbor Tour
-Pike Place Market / Lunch at Pike Place Brewry
-The Underground (Civil Engineering tourism...)
-Seattle Aquarium
-Mt. Si
-Biking on the Iron Horse Trail (paved trail goes over RR tressels and through tunnels). There should be places you can rent bikes.
-Mount Rainier (this will take a whole day)
-Whale watching tour (all day event - get out on the water)

If you want to do some hikes, I know LOTS of those as well...

Civil, you definetly need to go to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. They have this amazing Fat-tailed dwarf lemur that is a must see. Lots of other great animals too.

Anyone know of a bar to watch the Ags play in the super regional Sunday night? Anyone interested in meeting up and watching the game as well?

Go up to Cap hill and hang out. Be sure to dress really nice. You will really like it!

Kidding about capital hill...unless you like that sorta thing, then Seattle or SF are your town ; ) WWA&M club used to be ok. I lived in bellevue until I moved to Portland a couple of years ago. I sorta prefer portland area as the people are alot friendlier, the weather is better and i dont have to spend hours a day sitting on a damn floating bridge.

I am also civ, class of 96. Worked for a long time under dan zollinger on materials projects out at the annex. They still driving the beater "uncle jesse" truck around?

If you get a chance, walk around and take a look at the viaduct. From a civi standpoint it is fascinating that they still run traffic on it. The quake in 2002 was interesting not only to feel, but to see how structures did and did not fail. Also, marvel at how they dump a freeway (520) into a collector (avendale) in Redmond. Pretty much the entire transit system of Seattle is Fd up beyond repair.

Oh and in Vancouver BC there are some nice 'coffee' bars.
